"Friendly, safe, central to everything"
I've lived in Alexandra Hills for over 10 years having originally being from the gold coast. Though the Redlands has grown significantly since I moved up, the neighborhood I live in has been awesome. We had the same neighbours all the way up until early 2020, we were worried we wouldn't get neighbours as good as we had, turns out we ended up with our new best buddies. We still chat with our previous neighbours who have since moved to Victoria point and we've also built a fence bar during the midst of covid19 so we could still socialize with our new neighbours. We share dinners, etc. Always willing to help each other out. In all the years I've lived here, I've never been robbed, even the few times I've unintentionally left my car or the front door unlocked.
We're central to pretty much everything here, don't have to travel far to get to where we need to be, the blocks are a good size and there's decent playgrounds, walking tracks, dog parks, etc. Scattered throughout the neighborhood. I'd be happy to live in the hills for the rest of my life.

"Great area to move into with plenty of gentrification"
We have lived here for 4 years. We have never had any issues. Everyone is very friendly and you can see things changing. New homes being built and new families moving into the area. It is your classic gentrification story, with younger more affluent families moving into the area.
We purchased on a bit of a main thoroughfare, which was our own mistake. This is the only reason I am giving 4 stars. If you are looking to maintain at-least a 30min commute to the CBD, but want to enjoy a family friendly area close to the water, than look no further.

"Alexandra Hills - Safe and Friendly"
Alexandra Hills is geographically in the centre of Redland City. Close to all the other suburbs. Convenient shopping centre. Great take aways and plenty of family friendly parks. It has a Tafe, a State high school and primary school with private schools as well.
It also has several conservation areas and bushland parks. We've lived in two properties at Alex Hills now and the area has a nice, safe feel to it.

"Safe and very convenient place to raise a family"
We bought a house in Alex Hills 6 months ago, I got lovely neighbors form left to right, very quiet place, We live close to the shops and school is walking distance, close to the beach, close to the Carindale shopping center and not far from the city 30min and even to airport. Also we have a park and bus stop near the house. We just love this place.

"Best place to live"
I have lived in a few different Redlands suburbs including Capalaba and Wellington Point and now Alex Hills. I like Alex Hills the best. It is quiet and leafy and close to all the great cafes near the bay. I feel very safe here and the parks are great for my dogs. I work in the city and it takes me about 30 min (no traffic) or 45 min with traffic.

I've lived in Alexandra Hills for more than 15 years. I have never been robbed and neither have any of my neighbours or friends. comment...
what are your thoughts on AHSHS ?
what is your street address? i live ion Alex Hills, i have wonderful neighbor and never have any problems, never heard of crimes around our place
Well this fella has only one star reviews for every suburb. The problem is probably not with the suburb then...
"Alex Hills is the bomb"
I love living in Alex Hills. It's very close to Wellington Point and you can go for a beautiful water front walk whenever you please. The Capalaba shops have EVERYTHING you could possibly need and every chain store is available in Capalaba. Cleveland is 5 min away which is very trendy at night and has lots of great cafes. My neighbors and I all have big backyards not like the tiny 400sqm blocks in inner city suburbs. I work near Mt Gravatt and it takes about 20 - 25 min to get there in the mornings. The CBD is a bit further, about 30 min or longer in peak time.
Great for
- Big backyards, family friendly
- Every chain store available in Alex Hills or Capalaba
- Lots of green space
- Central location
- Friendly neighbors
Not great for
- No nightlife.
- Bad traffic through Capalaba

Hi what state high school have you had good/bad reports on ALEXANDRA HILLS or CAPALABA ? Thank for your
Post very helpful
Hi, my neighbours kids go to Alexandra Hills State High and they like it :) If you are concerned about OP ratings I think paying a bit of extra for Redlands College is advisable, as it has a great rating.
"Lots of parks, good schools and shops, easy commute to city and close to the bay"
I've lived in a quiet street of Alex Hills for about 10 years now. It's an easy drive to Brisbane CBD - about 35 mins. There are lots of great parks and bush with bike tracks. Love being close to the bay and islands, so much you can do there on the weekend. Alex Hills and Capalaba shops have everything you need. Good schools and TAFE college in Alex Hills and there is a hospital is in next suburb. Good neighbours in my street - everyone is friendly.

"Friendly neighbourhood"
Moved here from Townsville 3 years prior. Unfortunately now that I am leaving due to a promotion I am really going to miss my neighbourhood. We have had the privilege of living on the Wellington side of Alex Hills and have found it so convenient to every amenity. It's close to the 4 different beaches ( Wellington Point, Victoria Point, Raby Bay and Cleveland). it's convenient to hospitals, health specialists, shopping centres, schools, both train and bus and the people around the neighbourhood are friendly but not intrusive. We've had gardening advice, pet grooming tips, and all different kinds of assistance from people around the block where we live without once having been to each other's house. People around here are just lovely and there are a lot of parks where people take their dogs to roam. I fully recommend this side of Alex Hills.

"Convenient central location, lots of green space, great lifestyle"
I moved here 15 years ago and I still love it. It is very central and close to everything I love in Redland City including Moreton Bay. Alexandra Hills shopping centre has some great specialty shops and parking is always easy. It's also close to the main shopping/transport hub at Capalaba and from there an easy commute to Brisbane city via express bus. There are a number of nature reserves in the area with walking trails and lots of birds and wildlife, including koalas. Fantastic, safe place for families and anyone wanting a relaxed lifestyle. Good schools plus TAFE and not far from good universities. Much better lifestyle than I previously had in Sydney and it's so much more affordable.
Great for
- Lots of green space
- Central location
- Big backyards, family friendly
- Every chain store available in Alex Hills or Capalaba

great review ! what are your thoughts on AHSHS ?
My kids went to Alex Hills High School - I was very happy with it. The school is large and has a wide range of facilities and works closely with the TAFE next door, offering extra courses. There was a caring, inclusive culture in the school and my kids thrived in that environment, both graduating to university.
"Family-friendly suburb that's close to everything!"

"The Hub of the Redlands"
I am a business owner in the Shopping Centre for 3 years now and am I could not have chosen a better location to start a small business! Alex Hills is geographically located in the middle of the Redlands City so we get lots of passing traffic. Our team love the convenience of having lots of cafes and restaurants for lunch and Trade Secret is awesome for shopping for clothes and gifts. The parking is laid on so its easy for us and our clients to stop in.
