A fantastic suburb with great access to everywhere you need to go. Clean, broad, and quiet streets with beautiful buildings. Ashmore in on hills which provide natural view for residents. A safe suburb for families and students. Love my place in Ashmore.

"Wonderful"
This agency has such an asset in Donya St Bruno. I had the best experience with Donya when asking for professional advice as I'm considering an investment property in the area.
Donya is an absolute gem and goes the extra mile.
I would advise anyone to give her a call and she will help in anyway possible.
Thanks

"Just moved here and loving it"
We've been here for 3 months now after moving from 'trendy' Main Beach. We have not regretted the move at all. The area is established with lovely trees, parks, large blocks and many wide streets. It is very quiet except for the late morning humm of those doing their gardens. Three neighbours came to speak to us when we arrived and we are off to the street Christmas party soon. We love the privacy, we are not in anyone's pocket, close to all amenities and travelling is so easy after fighting Main Beach roads. And even better, they are going to renovate the Ashmore Steak and Seafood restaurant site to turn into an eatery similar to Brickwork Markets. The last tick in the box of a great place.

"Simply Beautiful Living"
We have lived here for a few years now, absolutely love it here. The people here are great, an excellent example of Australia at it's best. Lovely houses, close to everything. Not much else to say. It's peaceful here, but also really fun. I can't believe how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful place.

"Best suburb on the Gold Coast- Ashmore. I'd give it six stars if I could"
Ashmore is great! Lots of 80 klm roads to M1, Griffith Uni, Hospital, Broadbeach, Surfers. It takes 6 minutes on a clean run to get from the top end of Ashmore (near the train bridge on the Molendinar border) to Broadbeach restaurants! SIX MINUTES!
Ashmore is leafy, plenty of parks and waterfront park bbq's, dog areas and children's swings/playgrounds, bus routes. Many hills which offer fab Surfers views of an evening and gorgeous mountain sunset views. The shopping centres are smaller, localised and very friendly with many artisan producers of fine foods and products, restaurants, bakeries, fruit shops and several banks, post offices, medical, legal and other services and conveniences. There are plenty of quality schools, the neighbors are friendly and supportive. When I did a doorknock of about 60 streets selling tickets for a cause, only ONE person was rude and about three people said no. That's about 700 people who said yes and were obliging, interested and involved. I am convinced Ashmore people are wonderful. They are unpretentious, hardworking and social. THAT'S Ashmore!

"A dangerous place, don't go there!"
I was living in shared accommodation, and one of the guys I was living with was a drug user. This guy started coming after him and breaking in to our house, I had to grab whatever I could and make a run for it to a town 4 hours south before he came back with muscle. Luckily, I found a new place to live fairly quickly. If you value your life, don't go to Ashmore!
I agree clairer3. Ashmore is great! It's leafy, plenty of parks and waterfront park bbq's, dog areas and children's swings/playgrounds, bus routes. I'm so sorry this happened to you! Let's hope you are safe now. It seems to me that this isn't the fault with the suburb though, and maybe your review should be removed? This seems like more of a personal problem to me. A drug user you say? How unfortunate for all involved. Thanks for sharing. Ashmore is a great suburb, next time please just phone the police.
If you guys want a gleaming review of Ashmore, there are plenty of other ones on here. I will admit, there were some genuinely nice people there, but it's hard to focus on the pros when the cons are getting kneecapped. It was never my choice to live with those people in the first place, if I got to choose my roommates I DEFINITELY would've gone with someone else. I went to police, who basically said they couldn't do anything until the guy attacked me.
Not exactly a reflection of the whole suburb, but something I experienced that people should know could happen before moving here.
culumm, is the suburb full of junkie bogans or is this one incident unique to you?
good to see all comments with negative and positives
"Friendly Suburb - born and raised. Wouldn't live anywhere else!"
Ashmore is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the Gold Coast, gaining much recognition as a sought after suburb on the Gold Coast. Central to everything on the Coast it's never too far to drive anywhere. Local shops and businesses are at your door step, with friendly staff. Safe and secure neighbourhood with friendly neighbours.

"Best place on Earth!"
I'm regional Queensland born, and have spent time living in England, parts of Europe, California, and China. Having occupations that gives my wife and I the choice of living anywhere in the world, we chose Ashmore to settle and raise our family. Close to everything, has walking paths, shops, schools, healthcare, beautiful views, quiet, and is safe. 5 minutes to the beach, and 40 minutes to Brisbane (not that that matters - everything's right here!). There's posh houses and nice cheaper houses too. Ashmore is all that is good about Australia, in the one place. We love it.

Hi Karyn
I noticed your rating for "Pest Free", would you please elaborate. (I'm thinking of buying a property)
Thanks
"Patura Drive"
I've lived in Ashmore for the past 5 years with my family. So far been blessed with wonderful neighbours, good Public School (Ashmore State School) & excellent chidcare centre (ACCC). Work is 5 minutes away in Molendinar. Relatively safe street as most on the street are home owners & we look out for each other. Would never trade living elsewhere.

Yes that is probably not the best part of Ashmore to live in!
"Golf anyone?"
Ashmore is a fantastic place for those looking at purchasing a home or investment. The best part about Ashmore is that Royal Pines Golf Course is located on the south side of the suburb.
In the Royal Pines development I have seen some duplexes sell for anywhere from 800-1m+. Whereas in the same suburb you can still buy a house on a big block 600-800 sqm in the 400's.
Its location is prime and close to everything go for it!

That's a ridiculous review. It's a version of an incident that occurred involving yourself and no reflection of the suburb whatsoever. It's more of an indication of your inability to discern a decent roommate living situation. You should remove your post. Ashmore is a good spot, local to Pac Fair, Griffith University, easy access to beaches, MQ, good public transport routes, plenty of supermarkets and shopping centres, Banks, medical facilities, child care, dog parks, a lot of river access points and parks on rivers (Nerang river runs to Surfers and out to Spit). The neighbors are generally helpful, the GCCC services are great and there are cycling tracks and bike share markings on roads. Like anywhere, you have to do a solid recon before you sign anything. You can chalk this up to experience, cullumm
