Auburn, NSW 2144

Have lived in a apartment building next to train station. Noisy music at night and noisy neighbours all the time . Complained to security but no improvement at all .Also l lived on Edgar Street before neighbours complained to me someone took their yellow bin but l was not the landlord either so very aggressive people live here and unfriendly.

Like the title says, I've lived here since I was 5 years old, I am 26 now. If it wasn't for my parents, I would've moved by now. This suburb is not a very safe place to live, especially if you are a woman. Theres 2 sides in Auburn, the Parramatta Road side and the side closer to Granville IYKYK. I live on the good side thankfully which is the closer to Granville side. The other side is atrocious!! Creepy men everywhere and very dirty. I don't even go to Auburn Central to do grocery shopping, I go to the surrounding suburbs. I can't wait to get out of here one day. Only good thing about this suburb is that its close to Parramatta and the city isn't too far by public transport, thats it. People can't drive here too so be careful when you park your car at the shops. Food isn't too bad though I guess.

I love living in Auburn. shopping is great from green grocer, seafood, butchers, supermarkets Wollies and Aldi. Lots of banks here so plenty of ATMs. Variety of restaurants from Thai, Turkish, Nepalese, Afghan, Chinese and etc.
32 years here I have never had any crime issues personally. My neighbours are lovely and many have lived here over 25 to 50 years. Neighbourhood watch is excellent.
None of my neighbours ever had issues with crimes or break ins.
Auburn botanic and Japanese garden is beautiful. Lot of clubs here such as tennis , Rosnay Gold course.
Convenient for medical centres, pharmacy, Auburn hospital, St Joseph hospital.
25 mins by train to city , local buses run frequently and are reliable.
Local library and lots of parks around the suburb.
Those who speak negative of Auburn really haven’t lived here long enough and give themselves a fair go.
32 year here myself since I was 19 when I bought my house and now age 50 and I still love it. If I left Auburn I will still return to shop here so why bother moving ? My friends from North Sydney , Maroubra and Redfern shops in Auburn.

We live in a lovely apartment in Auburn. There are many low-rise apartments allowing good light but I'm sure that more development will come. We're hoping that Auburn is up-and-coming with Parramatta expanding Parramatta nearby, but I think that is a while away.

The heartbreaker is the litter. It is everywhere and really gets us down. There are some houses where people take pride and then next door there will be a full rubbish dump on the nature strip. Council really needs to address.

A great option for those looking for easy access to Parramatta, the city, local walks and parklands. The food here is fantastic too, with all the conveniences of big shops, public transport and major roads at your fingertips, particularly since the extension of the M4. One of the few remaining affordable central suburbs within the new “inner west” east of Parramatta.

Auburn is a busy hub full of nice restaurants and shops in its "strip" but yet has wonderful leafy residential area. Great local public primary schools. Not far from major shopping centres such as Parramatta and the newly redeveloped Top Ryde City as well as City. Fast train service can get you to Central in just over 20 mins at its best. Plenty of buses to connect you to the rest of Sydeny as well. I have lived here for 20 years and highly recommend this little gem of a place. Great community feel with mostly down to earth residents compare to the "snobs" of North Shore. The only problem is finding parking around the shopping area on a busy weekend.

A suburb with excellent transport links for the City, beaches, airport and East coast states via train or bus services. Excellent primary and Secondary schools, both public and private along with choice of daycare centres and easy access to Universities. Fantastic access to medical and diagnostic services of all kinds alongside a local shopping centre and 10 mins from major shopping malls.

I sternly believe Auburn is a great place to live if you are single, have a girlfriend/boyfriend, married, retired or any race.

Great food shops are open to the early hours of the morning offering all types of multicultural cuisines.

Grocery Shopping is convenient with Coles, WW & Aldi just around the corner.

Internet access is excellent for working at home or letting the kids do their homework

Westfield Parramatta is 10mins drive away & the Sydney city only 20mins away..

It has a quiet, friendly and relaxed atmosphere and that is reflected in the smiles of passers by. There is a diverse mix of people both in culture and age.

Housing types are also diverse in this treelined leafy suburb, ranging from beautiful old federation homes to modern new builds. With good size land plots there is a feeling of privacy and enough space to play in your own backyard and if you're lucky you may get chance to live in a house overlooking beautiful national parkland.

Overall, very friendly neighborhood with a lot of resources & convenient locations close by

How to put it.... growing up in Auburn was the most embarrassing thing and I would never tell people where I live. I lived in Auburn because I had no choice (lived with parents) and my parents just wouldn’t want to leave that place...
On a slightly positive side, at least I stayed in a house and was far away from the trash, the dirty things, the unpleasant streets and some people...
I hate the fact that I spent most of my life in Auburn.
This place has no security, has no culture (good culture)... In fact, although lived in Auburn for almost 20 years, I hardly checked out or visited the shops in Auburn because I hate this place!!!!!!
