"A great place to live"

Baringa is a fantastic family friendly place to live. Just 10 minutes from Caloundra and coastal beaches, easy access to the highway to get to Brisbane.

"Central to both Brisbane & Noosa"

Baringa is the best of both worlds.. Affordable & leafy with plenty of great beaches, shops, public and private schools all within 5 - 10mins. Central to Brisbane & Noosa (less than 1 hour drive each way) Future train line will allow for an even quicker connection to Brisbane CBD.

"Fantastic Urban Planning"

Lots of small parks and green spaces, plenty of bike paths , great for families seems amazingly well established for such a new suburb

"Best suburb Sunshine Coast"

Green and leafy, great schools. Close to beach 5 - 10mins. New arterial road to provide shorter travel time to Brisbane. Only 10-15 mins to the new Sunshine Coast University Hospital. Heaps more infrastructure in the pipeline - New Train / transport hub + New University + People's place + New Shopping Centre.

As an Agent there is no other suburb where kids can ride to school in a quality planned estate with wide bike paths - love seeing them every morning !

"Compact but Friendly & Great Family Area"

I've been living in Baringa for a year now and I love it - my house is beautiful and new, the neighbourhood is very friendly - I walk my dog and people chat to me all the time.

"New Suburb with Everything"

Baringa is a great suburb with new everything and top quality amenities. Bike paths are great for getting out and being active. So safe for the kids to go riding to the many local parks and perfect for Parkrun which is held on Saturdays. There’s a great local tavern, swim school and possibly the biggest and best IGA in the country.

While some home sites are small there are many over 800sqm so like any suburb variety is everywhere. Mixed demographic of people and ethnicities which is awesome and wonderful community spirit. Some locals but many people are from North America, UK and NZ and a lot of people have built from Melbourne and Sydney.

Baringa is situated at the southern end of the Sunshine Coast making it a perfect location for those needing to head to Brisbane. 30 minutes to the Sunshine Coast airport and 45min to Brisbane airport. Lots of owner occupiers and varying age groups. Mix of white and blue collar professionals.

New Aura city being built nearby in Nirimba which should have future jobs, shops and entertainment covered. Future road to Bruce Hwy will be completed 2022 which should take a big chunk of time off the commute to Brisbane.

Only negatives I have are the streets could be a little wider, and at the moment as Baringa is a new suburb the trees are still young and so that leafy feel isn’t there yet, but this will come over time.

"Great self contained suburb"

Everything exists within this little suburb. New Primary School, High School and Child Care Centre. Local shops includes supermarket, bakery, doctors, dentists, multiple food options and a tavern. Many park options for varying interests (bikes, skating etc.) and ages with no home more than 400m from a park. Safe environment with a good neighbourly atmosphere. Lots of things to look forward to as surrounding suburbs develop including expansion of neighbouring business park, new direct connection to the Bruce Highway (2022) and new shopping, community spaces, schools and private school in neighbouring Nirimba.

Pros:
Facilities (Shops, Schools, Parks).
Green Space.
Pathways (include cycleways).
FTTP internet.
Many professionals and business owners.
Wide range of people from international, interstate, ethnicities etc.

Cons:
Generally small blocks which are not for everyone although you can find larger lots available. Flip side is it covers a wide demographic of buyers.
Would be great to have a local chemist.
Lack of postal facilities.

Location:
15 minutes to multiple beaches.
20 minutes to Hinterland towns.
10 minutes to Bruce Highway.
1 hour 20 minutes to Brisbane.

"Some good points, but not for us."

Stockland development, so mostly small blocks where your only meters from neighbours.
Pros:
New houses
Great bike paths
Some bigger blocks
Great playgrounds for all ages
Nice cafes and local amenities

Cons:
Mostly small blocks, very congested living
High rental area, and higher unemployment rate
Low socio-economic pockets
Notable high population that drink, smoke, drive recklessly etc.
Cars parked on street due to small houses, streets etc.
Young children left unattended at playgrounds several times.
Over priced for what it is, likely due to covid and increased demand.

Overall, not for us, but can understand the appeal for others.

Sounds like a review from someone who couldn't afford to buy into the area. Also claiming you know the demographics of the people that live in the suburb paints a very different picture to the people that actually live in the suburb. Would love to see your sources for the facts you've stated.

Data can be found on nearby suburbs as there isn't much official for Baringa https://quickstats.censusdata.abs.gov.au/census_services/getproduct/census/2016/quickstat/SSC30496. Higher rentals and higher unemployment rate. Also qld crime map is a good indicator. Plus speaking to locals. Everyone has a different experience and good for people to see that here.
Bought a million dollar property in Pelican waters thankfully and personally can't wait to move.

Odd that you've provided data that isn't actually for the suburb you're reviewing perhaps you should have reviewed Caloundra West since that's the data you are basing your review on. Further, the data you've provided doesn't support your claims even for Caloundra West. High rental area, higher unemployment rate; census data shows both are lower than the state average. High population that drink, smoke and drive recklessly; very strange to make claims with zero supporting data. Checked the crime maps as you suggested and Pelican Waters has a higher crime rate than Baringa, ouch. Most concerning is Pelican Waters highest rate of crime is for unlawful entry, yikes! Be vigilant with the locks.

It's fine to use whatever metrics you'd like to make your decision but if you're going to publish a review at least either experience it yourself or have factual evidence to support claims.

I hope you enjoy your retirement in Pelican Waters you snared one of the cheaper properties.

Can you share those stat's you've found? As I cannot find them? Another search still confirms what I wrote above. Many crimes aren't reported in Baringa, ie old neighbour does drugs, as does his mate around the corner, they also regularly drink alcohol/smoke weed while they drive, but no crime reports on their properties, police also attended two rentals near by for DV, but thats not on the crime map. Nearly every neighbour, plus further on, smokes like a chimney and it wafts through the properties being so close. Our experience is different to yours, people deserve to read different experiences and not be mislead by one view, especially as its known agents come on here and provide a one sided view for promotion of a suburb. Weve met some wonderful people in Baringa, but unfortunately our overall experience hasnt been pleasant. We are much happier in Pelican waters thank you, lovely place, perfect for retirement and much more.

I recently purchased my prim. residence in Baringa - my budget was up to a $1m+ so could of chosen any suburb. I researched extensively for two years from NSW boarder (Gold Coast) to Peregian Springs SC whilst waiting for my youngest daughter to finish college (we were interstate) before moving, so I know the Goldie/SC suburbs fairly intimately. As a property investor also fairly prudent about what I buy and where - obviously more particular also if searching for a prim. resd. I did look at Pelican Waters - nice properties but decided against due to the area's flood risks per 100-yr flood map. I chose Baringa for (in my view) the lower flood risks and it's fundamentals - large cohort of owner occupiers, desirable suburb, a family area who take pride in their properties. Good infrastructure - shops, schools, gym, parks, cafes and close to major shopping and work hubs Birtinya, SC Plaza Maroochydore, Caloundra etc. Access to Brisbane and hugs mentioned above. Also adjacent Nirimba, it's up and coming infrastructure. I note Baringa's had major growth over the last 2 yrs, properties selling 2 yrs ago in the $500K's now $700K's and given it's still under the radar - growing desirability and plenty of further growth potential. Living here I've found Baringa convenient - can visit my eldest daughter in Bris and be back for lunch, a peaceful sanctuary with a friendly community feel. No regrets.

We are downsizing, retirees (59/63) with Grandies so parks and bike paths a plus. Hubby is into fishing and golf and I am into yoga and craft. Beach living a plus and close by.
