Hi PureKrome,
Burrum Heads is paradise for littlies as well as the big boys and girls. The Lions Park provides a wonderful safe area for swimming and Sirneia Beach has soft sandy beach without the dumping waves to knock littlies off their feet. When the tide is out there are still lots of puddles in the sand to investigate. Should this not be enough for them, then they will find a lovely play area just up off the beach in the 'On The Beach' estate.
If the children are a little bigger and have bikes then Burrum is ideal for them as well. The area around Burrum and all through the town is nice and flat and allows for even the worst bike riders to get around easily.
This is great info :) How far it is, by car, from the Sunshine Coast .. say .. Maroochie?
We are 3 1/2 hours from Brisbane and approx 1 1/2 hours from the Sunshine Coast. We have the Tilt Train stop in the small community of Howard, just 15 minutes away so you have easy access to Cairns and Brisbane. We also have easy access to the Hervey Bay Airport (25 minutes away)where you can catch fleights to Melbourne & Sydney.
I've never been north of Gympie .. but i'm hanging to do a drive up along the cost. Sounds like this is a town I should check out :)
Good post :)
You mentioned that it's family/kid friendly (recommended for). What type of activities are there for really young kids? Is there a park and some area for them to run around on the river or the ocean ? I'm guessing there is along the Esplanade?
