Daisy Hill, QLD 4127

No doubt, Daisy Hill is where my home is. We lived here most of my lives. Quiet place with easy access to shopping, restaurants and transport..

Moved into the suburb almost a year ago, with slight nerves due to moving to 'logan city' which has a bad reputation.

However it has nothing been short of an absolute delight. When going for walks people constantly stop in the street for a chat, we've met not just our neighbours but most of our court and some from nearby streets! Shops are so close and a variety of takeaway (the Thai food in the area is unreal!).

Finally, the nature reserve is such a beautiful escape just minutes down the road. We take our dog there for a walk weekly and is the best place for a quick escape.

Only negatives - and these are minor.

No 'upmarket' restaurants in the area
Bad litter in the housing commission streets (people are friendly though :) )

Come join our little suburb! You won't be disappointed.

Close to shops - Chatswood Hills (Woolies upgrade - shops - sushi train, thai food, pub etc) doctors/dentist
Daisy Hill Shopping centre - IGA , Coffee shop - nice brew and banana bread, great Indian take out
Hyperdome - Main Shopping Centre -Kmart, BigW, Aldi, Coles, Woolies.
Schools - good schools in the area (all types Independent/Catholic/State) and Child Care/Kindy too!
Parks - nice walking tracks and parks for kids and pets, Daisy Hill Koala Centre and Park - bushwalking track and mountain bikes.
Easy access to the M1 -CBD and Gold Coast

Public Transport on weekends - downer, bus comes every hour!

Even though there is congestion on the Freeway, it is still faster to drive to the City from Daisy Hill in peak hour than many suburbs much closer to the city. When the Gateway merge upgrades are done it will be even better. You exit the freeway and and soon link up to a dual lane road that takes you to much of the suburb in a few minutes. You don't get the congestion you see in places like Eight Mile Plains, Mt Gravatt or pretty much anywhere on the North side.
We get to see wildlife such as Wallabies, lizards (including the occasional Goanna), Kookaburras, Echidnas and more on a daily basis.
There is a fair bit of older, cheap housing in the area which has experienced significant growth in price over the last few years and I suspect it will soon reach a tipping point where we will see a lot of bulldoze/rebuilds and renovations.

Daisy Hill is a great place for a family. The areas on the actual hill behind JPC up to the state forest are full of trees , wildlife and birds. It is a peaceful area where you can be out of the craziness of the inner city areas but have all the conveniences and connections you need. Safe and friendly. People look after their homes and yards. Close to walks in the State Forest and conservation area. Would highly recommend it.

Daisy Hill is a mixed bag. It gets down to the street you are in. I lived just south of John Paul College. The music and functions from the Community Centre on the main road would disturb our sleep at night 3 blocks away. There is a low income/housing commission group of housing a few blocks away. Drunks would walk through our street throwing cans and making noise. The poor owner after we moved out got broken into. There is a newer development of houses to the right of Daisy Hill Rd that are alot more expensive and probably quieter, neighbour pending.

We've been here for a few years and we love it, live in a townhouse, nice and safe area, near John paul college, a 5 minute walk to the bus stop from Farr-Jones court, cant complain. Love living here, nice and quiet, great neighbours.

Have lived in DAISY HILL for nearly 20 years. When we arrived, we were wanting a suburb safe for our young children and green (being a Vet Nurse, I don't like suburbs where you can hear your neighbour, no greenery or full of concrete units. It is a typical family suburb, with house prices and land sizes to suit all sorts of financial limits. It's history dates back to the mid to late 1800's where the Dennis Family gave it its name because their daughter apparently loved the "daisies" growing up on the "hill" hence the name. Alot of the land is protected by the Conservation Park where The Daisy Hill Forest/Koala Centre is located, which is a very popular place if you prefer nature parks over expensive theme parks. It's boasts the most nature loving forest full of eucalypt gums with picnic areas spread everywhere, public toilets, BBQ areas, huge grass areas shaded by trees for a game of cricket, football or just pull a blanket out and fall asleep. But don't complain if you get regular visits from the Kangaroos or kookaburras while walking as its their main home. The main attraction is the Koala Centre which is a lovely education centre for the public to learn and oogle at the adult and baby koalas. Or if your enthusiastic, take one of the forest walks or bike trails.

There is a good choice of public and private schools, numerous DayCare Centres and preschools, a nice handful of small shopping areas and privately owned shops, trees, trees and more trees, lots of parks catering for children and adults and one of southside's larger shopping precincts only 4km away with just under 200 shops and endless "FREE" parking. Lots of Doctors, Dentists, Physios etc with the Logan Hospital only 5-7km away. There are small eating areas popping up everywhere, with Christopher's having the better name. But a lot of the main eating areas are now located at the new outdoor eating area of The Hyperdome Shopping Precinct, which now has a lovely outdoor area full of restaurants, various cuisines, waterfalls, huge bowling alley, cinemas and loads of undercover parking. The Pacific Highway runs adjacent to Daisy Hill, giving you perfect access to either Brisbane CBD and the Sunshine Coast Northside, or the Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales South of Daisy Hill.

My children are young adults now, but still choose to live in Daisy Hill due to the convenience of having a green suburb with everything at your fingertips.

Nice and quiet place to live, family retreat, relaxation and safe environment, education standard is also great (John Paul College, and St Edward School) both catholic school with great ethics for kids to be a right person, human and a successful life style. I just moved in few months ago, and feel like never before. It is close to main motorway, Brisbane (for work) 12 minute off peak (25 minute peak), To Gold Coast 30 Minute, Movie world and Dream World just 20 minute. Such a convenient location, also for shopping just few minutes to Hyperdome Shopping center, for kids and recreation it has Koala Park and wood fire BBQ facility.

Just love it.

A great place for families with children. Plenty of parks and sports facilities. A choice of schools - both public and private. Quiet, clean and green. A great choice of shopping with local shops and larger shopping centers close by.

In 27 years of living in Brisbane, I've lived in various surburbs (Spring Hill, West End, Paddington, Gordon Park, Chermside, Sandgate, Norman Park, Morningside, Wynnum, Yeronga, Fairfield, Greenslopes). Daisy Hill has been by far the best place to live. Close to all amenities and people here are so friendly and polite.

Daisy Hill has every thing that you could need.
A Major shopping complex 5 minutes down the road.
Small friendly shopping precincts throughout the suburb that can provide everything a family needs.
The people are friendly and say hello as you go passed them when out walking in the morning.
Public Transport is good and access to the M1 is a stones through away without being too close.
There are Child Care Centers within easy reach along with Primary schools and a well renowned Secondary School.
