"This is where I live now and I love it"
I love living in Deeragun, the people are very friendly and the suburb peaceful, it is close to shops and only a short drive into the metro area.

"Very little community vibe"
Spent six months living here, quiet and relatively safe in comparison to what people say. Everyone sticks to themselves, owns massive dogs that
are never walked and generally used
for ‘security’. Walking the streets isn’t nice because of the aggressive type barking and feels like you’re being watched by community members. Conversation is either about crime or conspiracy theories…
Public transport is one bus a day, usually takes an hour to get into Tsv. Few decent shops around for basic life needs. Limited restaurants/night life. Pretty dusty place in the dry season. Prettier in the wet.
So you would not advise people to move to that area ?
As well are you still living in that area or have moved away ?.
I moved away six months ago, and much closer in town now which I really enjoy. It is a really odd suburb and I found myself frequently visiting Bushland Beach and inner Townsville suburbs - almost daily.
Im sure it would be a great place to live for some people but just not my family. I wouldnt recommend it unless you had friends/family in the area or enjoy isolation. Hope this makes sense.
"Fast growing suburb with big block sizes"
Deeragun along with Burdell is home to quite a number of new estates that are of a high quality, there is adequate shopping opportunities nearby and there is easy access to the highway and a short drive to the airport, leisure opportunities abound and the block sizes are bigger then average in most estates, basically you have options. Schools are in excellent supply and the area is quite peaceful.

"Not that bad"
I've lived in the area and/or close to all my life. Yes there are plenty of ferals but it's pretty laid back and I wouldn't call it unsafe. I've walked the streets after dark, never had an issue but the growing population means that there are more and more idiots about. The shopping has vastly improved and there are alot of schooling options with a 5-10km radius. It's a different lifestyle out there, noone seems to care much about any or believe in rushing about. Very small town yokel style. But its lightyears ahead of where it once was. I would happily move back there. In regards to break ins and car theft, Townsville in general is going through a huge crime boom, not just Deeragun. And I have NEVER heard gunshots.

- Shopping options
- Smaller population away from city
Not great for
