Reviews of Hillman, WA
"Hillman - Great little suburb"
Hillman is a very small suburb with only about 500 homes, it is not very well known and people seem to stay there long term. it has a very low turn over of home owners and tenants. You can still buy a great house at an affordable price in Hillman. It is convenniently located near the Uni, the train and the rocky shops. The Hoyts cinema is close by and the many restaurants in the Rocky precinct.
Everyone that lives there seems to love it, its close to the hospital and the basket ball stadium and still not far from the Rocky foreshore.
You can pick up some great buys when the properties do come on the market - it has that community feel though and the houses dont come up very often

"A great, quiet suburb"
Hands down one of the best places I've lived. Designed around 3 good sized parks, with well lit walkways and underpasses connecting them. Lots of retired folks, and blue collar families. It's really cute to be coming home from work and seeing blokes in hi-vis walking their kids home from school :) To be honest, the hoons aren't the young guys doing up cars- it's the mothers dropping kids off at school! Excellent access to the train.

"Best kept secret in Rockingham"
it's the people who live here! I can't put a price on my neighbours, discreet but always friendly, with a wave or to lend a hand. Great hidden footpaths throughout the whole suburb and kids who get to play out on the street! or in one of the many reserves or parks. Hillman Primary is a great school (I went there and so do my kids!) with easy access to the local high schools (4 or 5 them?). Good bus service and I live walking distance to the train and can be in the city for work within 30 minutes of leaving home, no traffic! The beautiful rockingham foreshore is only a few minutes drive away, as are shops, gym, Murdoch Uni, TAFE and beautiful bushland. When people ask me where I live, they claim they have never heard of Hillman. Best kept secret in Rockingham.

yes its is the best kept secret been here four years never had a crime problem nice quiet nights location is perfect and is great for young families with lots of culdesacs and a fantastic school the man who planned hillman was very family oriented . one of a kind suburb you will never see this again. the down side is most houses are small by newer standards but lend themself well to some renovation and are cost effective to heat and cool dizzyme is 100% correct in her review i think when the developers finally cotton on which i hope they never do. the prices will climb a bit more.
