Reviews of Idalia, QLD
"Best of both worlds"
Located within 10 minutes of the CBD, Idalia is the newest and biggest development that close to the city. From small first homes to rentals and mid range homes to upper market luxury homes with views of the river and the lakes. No need to travel for you groceries or a take-away with Fairfield Central at the Southern end includes a Woolworths store, Brumbys, Newsagency, Chemist, Suncorp Bank, Travel Agents and Hairdressers. Nearby is the first Zaraffas Coffee restaurant and drive through, not far from there is Bunnings. At the Bowen Rd entrance is a small group of shops called The Precinct, there is a number of take aways to choose from, restaurants and cafes. The landscaping around the parks and lakes is well cared for you will enjoy walking or riding along the pathways that meander along the lakes edges through to the River.

"Fairfield Waters personal review"
I'm probably biased but we love this suburb - for us it ticks all the right boxes. We've lived in Fairfield Waters (Idalia) since 2001 after buying one of the original 4 display homes and there were just 20 or so houses then. So we've seen the suburb grow and develop from the ground up and frankly we'd be hard pressed to live anywhere else in Townsville. The suburb has it all - close to schools - public and private primary/secondary schools, shopping centres, sports facilities, Ross River Creek, the CBD, the hospital, JCU, restaurants while the parks and the river walks/bike paths are excellent. The breezes come straight in off Cleveland Bay and are wonderful in this climate. We love the area so much we recently built a new home in the suburb. Financially the suburb has been a winner for us as well.
