Reviews of Jamestown, SA
"Great for Retirees... BUT!"
Forget tranquility. Barking Dogs here and there, getting smoked put during part of the year, clickiness unless you belong to the Catholic Club. I am out of here.
Would i recommend it for Pensioners seeking the quiet life? A flat no.
"Want to fall in love at first sight? Then take a visit to Jamestown"
We drove through Jamestown on our way elsewhere and instantly fell in love with this town and it's people. We are now moving there and intend to stay for the remainder of our days.
Wonderful people who are extremely friendly and helpful, the air is beautifully clean and town water leaves your hair feeling so soft. Children have the option of a private or public school, with the public school being from reception to year 12 and having a great reputation. Great playground and parks for the entire family as well as interesting places for both town folk and visitors to explore.
The town has dentist, doctors and visiting specialists, it's own hospital and there is an airstrip should anyone need to be air lifted to a larger medical facility.
Only an hour away you will find the townships of Port Pirie to the west, and Clare to the south, should you wish to explore larger nearby areas.
