""Jannali: A Prime Residential Choice in the Shire with Convenient Amenities and Transportation Access""

Jannali proves to be an excellent choice for those seeking a residence in the Shire! Situated along the convenient T4 Train line, it provides easy access for commuters. Whether you prefer public transportation or driving, everything is within a 10-minute reach, including Miranda Westfield, Sylvania South Gate with its 24-hour Kmart and Fitness First, Kirrawee South Village, Kareela Shops, and even Bunnings.

Moreover, the locality boasts an array of charming cafes and dining options in Sutherland. The express train ensures a swift 30-minute journey to the city, while a 15-minute train ride takes you to Hurstville for delightful Asian cuisine. Jannali truly offers the best of both worlds – a serene suburban lifestyle with the convenience of proximity to key amenities and efficient transportation links.

"Great suburb to raise a family"

Jannali is becoming one of the most sought after suburbs in the Sutherland Shire. With housing still affordable in some parts, and the development that has taken place over the last 5 years, Jannali is certainly putting itself on the map. Family friendly, moments to Como Pleasure Grounds and an easy 25 minute commute to Sydney CBD by train, great schools, cafes and restaurants there is plenty to do to pass the time. Jannali would be an ideal suburb to raise a young family.

"Honeysuckle Street - Great Family Street"

I have grown up in Jannali - Honeysuckle Street & it is such a great street for young families! The kids in the street spend all day together and over the years, newcomers are welcomed with open arms. Each year we have street parties for Christmas and family events and I would recommend this side of Jannali especially to all people looking to buy in the area. The school up the road ‘St Josephs’, is a beautiful school and extremely convenient. Can’t say a bad word about Jannali!

"Amazing suburb to call home"

Jannali is a safe, leafy family friendly suburb that I highly recommend to people looking for a place to live. My partner and I had not heard of Jannali prior to moving here 2 years ago but so thankful we stumbled upon this suburb while looking for our first home. Some of our things we really enjoyed while living in Jannali are:
- Fast trains (35 mins) to CBD (great for ppl like me who work in the city and have to return to the office once lockdown has ended)
- Plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes that locals can easily access (especially convenient during lockdown)
- Close proximity to nature and green spaces like Royal National Park, Cronulla beaches etc
- Strong community spirit (my personal experience with neighbours have all been positive)
- Town centre has a really nice village atmosphere (unlike some suburbs that have an industrial feel to it)
We love our lifestyle here in Jannali and have not looked back since calling this place home!

"jannali my old home town"

i moved to jannali or really oyster bay near jannali in 1951 when the area was mainly bush. we had no sewerage, a pan toilet, an ice box and meat store made of hessian. no buses, dirt roads. train stopped at como. all trains were steam trains no electric. no shops as such.wet to school at penshurst marist brothers.swam at como baths with a mud bottom and jelly fish that snuck in through the nets. lived in atent for ayear until dad completed part of the house.sutherland township was small and miles away. good times its a shame civilisation arrived!!! went back in 1990 no bush. just houses built on top of each other particularly around bates drive.

"Charming, quiet and safe little suburb with convenience at your fingertips"

We moved to Jannali a year ago from the lower north shore and have really enjoyed living here. All the neighbours we've met so far are friendly and there is a strong sense of community in the neighbourhood. Jannali has a train station with express trains to the city in peak hour (35 mins to town hall) and the main roads are lined with cafes, restaurants and a Woolworths Metro. Our favourite restaurants are Rock Salt (Italian) and Moksha (Indian).

If you want to shop, Westfield Miranda, South Village and Bunnings are all within a 10 min drive. If you are after some nature, Royal National Park, Como pleasure grounds and Cronulla beaches are all within easy reach and no more than a 20 min drive away.

There are currently plans to further develop Jannali town centre to incorporate a commuter car park and more retail shops including a full sized Woolworths so things are certainly looking up for this little suburb. It is not hard to see why Jannali was ranked one of the most liveable suburbs in Sydney.

"A lovely suburb hidden away from the main stream"

My parents bought a house in Wattle Road, Jannali in 1966 when we came to live in Australia from England. Originally only supposed to stay for three years, as my father was on a contract for that time, but we ended up staying. Although I didnt personally live in Jannali with my parents for that long as I went back to the UK for five years and on return lived elsewhere - I made numerous visits to the suburb . Of course it has changed out of sight since those days and never in my wildest dreams did I think I would come and live here, but am now happily ensconced in one of the four townhouses on my fathers old block. It is quite strange really! But it is a great place to live for many reasons and especially with Covid now, we feel a lot safer than where we used to live in the inner city - too congested and no infuriating plane noise every day, which we endured for 12 years! I can see the appeal of Jannali, although in the early days it was much less sophisticated, for want of a better word. My father, who lived here for almost 50 years loved Jannali and used to say it is the centre of the universe! , which made us all laugh.

"Underrated and Undervalued! - A leafy little suburb where kids can still play in their street!"

Our young family love this little Suburb and are blessed to call it home. Doubt we will be moving out of here any time soon as the vibe is great and the schools in the area are excellent. The area is still really undervalued and underrated considering the the express train to the city (which I use) and the abundance of parks, schools and ammenities. The first time I drove into First Avenue (West) and saw the kids with their parents littered across the street I thought yep this is where we will be for abit. Haven't looked back!

"Fantastic suburb"

Lovely quiet streets - the sort of place where you can let kids play out front with the neighbours and not have to worry. Great schools with teachers who care. The people are lovely. I read another review about racism, but we have lived there for 3 years now and never had an issue (my wife is from South America and looks a bit middle eastern). Most people seem genuinely nice and the area is increasingly multicultural, albiet still predominantly white. Great location - frequent trains to the city take around 40 min, 15-20 min drive to the beach, 5 minutes to Como pleasure grounds (excellent pool and park), 15 minute drive to Royal National Park, 5 min drive to Bunnings, Aldi, Coles etc. Jannalil shops are fine and improving (eg two new venues for evening drinks have opened up in the last year including a kid friendly sports bar), though there are still some empty shopfronts that I would like to see filled. The local shire has plans to plant heaps of trees along many of the streets in the near future, which will further improve the landscaping. All round fantastic.

"Absolute gem of a suburb"

Recognised by the real estate industry and media as an "it" suburb for growth.
The most convenient Shire suburb for commuting to the CBD. Only 35min on the train and lots of trains stop here. Lots of cafes, restaurants and an almost Summer Hill-like village atmosphere along the main drag. People say Rossford Ave is generally regarded as the most desirable street because it's nice and there are distant views to the ocean from many of the houses... but we couldn't quite afford it there and we think our street is awesome as well so you just can't go wrong in Jannali!
Full of professionals, fantastic schools and a real community atmosphere. 15min to the beach, 5min to the river, 10min to the national park. Excellent position.
No wonder home prices are sky rocketing!

"Way too far from the city"

That's ridiculous...it's only 35 mins from city by train. Plus that's the whole point of living in Jannali. We actually have trees, wildlife and views rather than concrete.

"Best suburb in the Shire!"

Jannali is the best suburb in the Shire! As first home buyers we didn't have many locations in the Shire we could afford and we didn't like ANY of them...Engadine, Menai, Heathcote etc :-( However, when we found Jannali it totally blew the other places out of the water! Its literally in the centre of the Shire with easy access to the beach, water (@Como). Its really quiet and the houses are quaint and cute. Its the quickest and best suburb in the Shire in terms of getting in and out of the city and is also convenient and close to shops and restaurants etc. I wouldnt live anywhere else. And in just over two years our house is now worth over $100K more than we paid for it! You couldn't ask for anything better!

"Best deal in south sydney!"

We moved to Jannali 2 years ago from the inner city. To say we've been impressed since then is puttting it lightly. Great cafes, fast trains to city, family friendly people, super schools (just check out Jannali East on myschool) 15 mins from the beach (without having a 1M plus beach mortgage!)...could not be happier....now to find the money to build that 4th bedroom so we don't have to move!

"Quiet, leafy Jannali...a fantastic place to live"

I moved to Jannali from another area of the Sutherland Shire and absolutely love it! Its much quieter and leafier than other areas of the Shire and very convenient to shops, transport and other facilities. Its close to the City, close enough to the waterways and the house prices are still reasonable (although climbing every day).

I love the relaxed feel of the suburb and would recommend it to other first home buyers!
