Reviews of Kangaroo Point, QLD

"Amazing location, deplorable development, over run by crusty boomers"

Becoming more and more dull and lifeless. Live music in the park by the river? Boomers call the police in droves to have shut down. Restaurants holding functions, policed called to shut down. Great seafood restaurant on the water, Boomers rallied to have shut down because the bins smelt fishy when they walked past them. Developers have gotten away with absolute parking murder for years. Buildings full of 2,3,4 bedrooms with 1 car park. Also be prepared to be followed and stalked by Boomers if you have a dog. I have been kneeling down with a dog poo bag in hand and a Boomer yelled "I HOPE YOUR PICKING THAT UP!" Nah Agnes I just wear poo bags on my hands for accessories! Any way beautiful locations it's the people who ruin it.

"Riverside city living"

I moved to Kangaroo point around 5 months ago and have had the pleasure to be situated next to the Brisbane river which offers so many benefits that were unknown at the time I moved. To get to work I'm able to walk down to Mowbray park ferry terminal and take the ferry into Riverside station on Eagle Street. There isnt many places in the world where your commute to work can be done sitting on the back of the ferry in the Brisbane sun to relax before you start your day. Along with this you have the beautiful running and cycle track along the river which passes beautiful cafes, bars and restaurants all on the river edge.

"Over populated and buildings are going up quickly!"

For a little suburb with over-population issues, there is a lack of spots to eat out, have a drink and shop for quick groceries. If you're looking for a place where you can do things locally this is not it.
Public transport isn't very accessible and one of the ferry ports has been closed for a long time- no sight of it re-opening any time soon!
I work from home and can hear building sites all around me all day; even on weekends.

"Fantastic neighbourhood if no car"

Great location on the river and easy to get around on bicycle, and by foot.
Quiet with a few evening spots but all close by up, down or over the river.

Not a neighbourhood if you need a car. One road in and one road out, so long delays.
High density neighbourhood with more newer buildings destroying the old historical cottages. No parking

"Kangaroo Point - an inner city sanctuary"

KP is one of the most underrated locality close to the city. Pubs, CBD, Southbank all walk distance, KP Cliffs is stunning. Great for the young up and coming professional or young families.

"close to river and the city"

Great access to the City of Brisbane and its River. We could live there and spend a week there at least once a year. The development of the area is all very well done and it has the Story Bridge Hotel, the city and Southbank nearby.

"Best Location In Brisbane"

Great if you like waterfront apartment living. Surrounded by water and parkland the city is a 5 minute ferry ride or 5 minutes over the bridge by car. Close enough to the city without the hustle and bustle. I have lived in the area for over ten years and have no plans to leave. Great places to eat out are Garnish Bistro, Deerys at the Story Bridge Pub, Cafe Dockside or Zio Mario's on the border with East Brisbane.

Best streets are Thorn, Scott and Goodwin to name a few.

"A perfect place to live....within minutes to Clem7, City, Cafes and hospitals."

Kangaroo Point in the perfect inner city hub, When Kangaroo Point is mentioned we immediately think of rhyolite cliffs.

These cliff formations were not formed by nature but by early mining and are now the major rock climbing attraction for Brisbane's abseilers. Kangaroo Point is also a popular spot for picnics, walking and cycling. Particularly popular is the walk under the Story Bridge to Dockside.

Once a working class area, Kangaroo Point is now home to expensive highrise developments, cafes and restaurants.

You can stroll the river walk ways, picinic in one of the many parks provided, eat at some of Brisbane's finest resturants and have the security of being minutes from Brisbane's best hospitals. Brisbane's CityCat and ferry service at your door, leave the car in your garage.

Also .... the Story Bridge Hotel is a major attraction to the area. With both great atmosphere and good food. Whether it is for an evening out or for a Sunday jazz session it is definitely worth a try.

"Great views and wonderful location"

You may be lucky enough to afford a nice apartment with views in the kangaroo point if so im sure its a great view. Although Kangaroo point may not be in the right in the heart or nroth side or inner city of brisbane, it is blessed with having unrealistic views.

It faces the city directly so and night you get to see everything from the towers to Story Bridge (depending on your view). Great walkways to to take the dog or go for an early evening jog.

"High density living, close to the city of Brisbane"

Kangaroo Point is just over the Story Bridge from Brisbane, nestled on the Brisbane River. With the highest density living in Australia, it is jam packed with apartments, flats and units.

The area is a great spot for young professionals and students to be based. Rental accommodation is quite affordable, and access to the city of Brisbane is easy, with the area frequently serviced by bus, ferry and road.

There is also a huge range of recreational activities in the area, with steep cliffs for rock-climbing and abseiling and many bicycle paths.

The lifestyle in this suburb is very cosmopolitan, with a number of laidback pubs and cafes. Perfect for making the most of the glorious Queensland weather.

"This area is essentially a residential area with high rise apartment blocks and some housing."

Kangaroo Point is across the Brisbane River from the Brisbane city centre and in fact the Story Bridge crosses over at its peak. What have become so popular in this area are the new apartment blocks for city living. It is only a matter of crossing over the bridge, or catching the ferry and there you are in the centre of the city.

This would be a great place to live you are the busy executive. Live in a no maintenance situation and entertain overlooking Brisbane and Brisbane River. Qute a desirable situation.

At this point you can jump on the highway and head north or south to the beaches for your weekend relaxation.

For a miriad of restaurants you are only a stone's throw from Brisbane, or drop down to South Bank for some dining near the river.
