"Some rough elements"
There are some rough elements in the area that bring it down. Transport is a problem.

Compared to suburbs around us we have very little issues compared to them. Petrie for me
If your close to rail transport is great. Not sure of rough elements? Few bogans perhaps, but in 8 years never seen a crime, fight or robbery. Insurance reflects this.
Hi, thanks for your review. What do you think about Illoura street in Petrie? We are looking to move to Petrie and found a house on Illoura st however unsure if it is the best choice for us. Thank you
"Getting to work is a problem"
Moggill road is still a major bottleneck. There has also been little improvement to the suburb in 10 years.

you haven't even bothered to live or drive around here before making the review..... what a joke !
Wow who the hell is this fool making negative comments on Regents Park and things he don't know. Where the hell did he get his stats from...Does he live here or did he just drive a few streets and made judgement. I am a local agent who has lived in the area for over 5 years and am a current resident of Regents Park. Here are some real stats... 76% of Regents Park is owner occupied with majority of the homes and streets in the area well presented with very house proud owners. RP DATA statistics showed Regents Park is the Prince of Suburbs in the Logan City Council second only to Rochedale South which was also a write up in the Logan Leader News Papers. As for transport, well whatever street you live on there is a bus stop within walking distance and with all major arterials to the Mt Lindsaye Highway to take you to the Gold Coast or Brisbane within minutes. As for crime, well every city and Suburb has it's problems, but I guarantee you, you would have hardly heard of Regents Park on the news unlike our up market neighbours the Gold Coast and many other Suburbs. Regents Park along with Heritage Park and Hillcrest are certainly the more favoured areas to purchase in the Browns Plains and surrounding Suburbs. Know the real facts before making stupid comments...
Most of the reviews have been favourable or neutral, interested in why you think this is one of the tougher parts of Brisbane's north? I also hear of pockets within Stafford that arent great, does anyone know where these pockets are, going out on limb here and assuming they are public housing. I say this having grown up in houso's. Looking to move to the area but want to ensure I move to a home and community and not a house in a suburb. Cheers
If I were you I would ignore any reviewer who gives a one line review of a suburb. Indeed, someone who bases their one line review on having only 'visited' the area is unlikely to have a clue about community, amenities, facilities, schools, or really anything particularly helpful at all to a prospective buyer or renter. In addition, any researcher will tell you that someone who gives the same low rating to all questions without any deviation is not paying attention to the questions. It's unlikely that Stafford's schools deserve the lowest possible rating available - if this were true I imagine it would have been on the news. Further, it is unlikely the cost of living in Stafford is so high as to deserve the lowest rating, or that it is an incredibly loud neighbourhood (it's actually quiet), or that it's full of rodents (I think the council would have had something to say about that if it were true) etc etc.
This guy has not given an accurate suburb rating in my opinion and therefore I doubt anyone will find it helpful.
Agreed thanks, I also noticed this reviewer also commented on Ashgrove saying it was perfect. Maybe a vested interest or one bad experience. I am still interested to find out about these so called pockets that are mentioned more than once. I see the area as value for money particually in this market. Have friends in Stafford and their area seems nice enough and have lived on the northside since moving to Brisbane in 2001, compared to Sydney their are no rough area's that I can see.I just dont want to find myself in what is considered locally as one of the bad pockets and thats why i need some guidance. Cheers
Personally, I take more interest in the low rating reviews rather than the slew of 5 star-ers that most suburbs on this site always get. I strongly suspect that most 5 star reviews are from real estate agents trying to spruik sales, so am more likely to believe a low scoring review. And before you ask, I live in the area and know what it is like and happen to agree this is one of the tougher parts of north brisbane! Oh, and to answer the pockets question - yes, it is the housing commission areas (of which there is a large amount in Stafford and a further 96 housing commission houses planned acording to Stirling Hinchcliffe the MP for the area).
Oh, and Talbot - you appear to live in Inala, so I don't see you as qualified to comment on Stafford either by your argument...
Hi Budgie, I was commenting on the unhelpfulness of extreme ratings that accompany one liner reviews made by people who can't be bothered to construct a true and useful review. If you read my comment you will see I was referring to the statistical unlikelihood that Stafford would qualify for the extreme rating on cost of living, noise, or presence of rodents - which was what the reviewer had scored for it. I have family who live in Stafford so I am familiar with the area, but of course can only comment as a visitor rather than a resident. Having visited many times I have not ever (not even once) found myself driving through swarms of insects or rodents, deafened by loud noises, or unable to afford to buy groceries due to a high cost of living. Please, as a resident, feel free to correct me if that is your experience.
If you only want positive reviews then only read the 5 stars. Plenty of people will give give stars because they live there and have never had any particularly bad experiences. Personally I live on the border of Stafford and there are plenty of dodgy bits. Sadly it's bit anyways obvious which parts are housing commission... but like another review said, spend a bit of time in the Stafford shopping centre and you'll get an idea of the cross section of humanity involved
Hi everyone. What do you think about Armfield street? We found a comission house on sale and quite liked the street. Does anybody know if it's safe there and around this srea? Thanks
or dont chose
"Nice and close to JCU"
but this is too close to two main highways and some troubling areas
I think you'll find there are only a few streets affected by the highways and that the rest of the suburb is one of the quietest in Townsville. As a suburb with one of the lowest crime rates in Townsville, which troubling areas do you mean?
"One of the success stories of south brisbane"
but it still suffers from the plainess that comes with low-cost urban sprawl.
An obviously biased opinion from a probable Petrie resident? You need to live in the suburb and know a little more before giving it one star and low ratings on everything. Uninformed and misleading.
As a Forest Lake resident, I totally disagree with your comments. You obviously don't live in FL.

all his reviews are uninformed and poor.... this person likes stirring others into anger..... the only "good"places according to him are inner city suburbs ....
yeah he is a bit of a troll lol
"Another one of the new suburbs on the north of Brisbane"
These suburbs get me down, but this does have good access to the Highway and a quick trip to the Sunshine Coast or the city. Always worried when a suburb is defined by what it is close to.
"A collection of highrises racing to get above the din of the major roads below"

You seem to be an expert on all suburbs of Gold Coast, NOT, must have moved around a bit?? Please you should only comment on suburbs you have resided in, not just driven through.
You dont know what you are talking about. Burleigh Waters is if anything too quiet and is not rough at all
You say that it's too congested and busy and yet you give it an over all rating of 5 stars. I think we now know which suburb you live in. Leave Forest Lake and other suburbs you have thumbed your noses up to alone and stick to what you know......nothing.
"A nice suburb that won't be overlooked for much longer"
