"Diversity in a family neighbourhood"
I am a local Real Estate Agent and I have chosen to work in Kuraby.
Kuraby is a neighbourhood with diversity attracting youthful professionals and families. I find that in a suburb the more diversity you have the friendly and helpful your neighbours are. But I am sure this will be debated as not everyone will agree. Kuraby is roughly 30 minutes drive from Brisbane CBD, 51 minutes drive to Gold Coast sitting in the outer southern suburbs of Brisbane. Clean and leafy green street, with parks, restaurants and local shops dotted around, you will feel safe in this neighbourhood. New homes are being built and old homes are being beautifully renovated, adding extra charm to it. Heavily serviced by public transport (Trains and Buses) the commute to and from work is easy.

"Family suburb"
I grew up in Kuraby and I really like it as a kid. There are (or was?) heaps of young families in Kuraby and good neighborhood spirit. Everyone around us took pride in their homes and in their yards. There is not much nightlife in Kuraby aside from the Glen Hotel and HQ (both pretty average venues as far as nightclubs go). From what I have heard, Kuraby has changed a lot since I lived there. Apparently now there are many ethnic groups who have since moved there and there is not as much community spirit. The traffic was and still is pretty bad.

"First Impressions"
I've lived here for about 6 months now and my overall first impressions are good :)
I live about 10 min walk from the train station where there is a doctors, chemist, convenience store, great fish'n'chips and a little further down the road there's currently an Indian restaurant, great sushi, nice hair dressers and a reasonably priced petrol station. There aren't any major shops in the area but nothing is more then a 15min drive away; 5min to the Coles or Wollies, or even better, near the intersection of Beenleigh and Logan Road there is a really good butchers and Vegi shop.
As for the community - they're a quiet bunch with a couple of kids and a few dogs about. There always seems to be something happening at the local school or park giving me the sense of fun community spirit.
