"A Central Town"
Lismore has a population of approx 250 people. It has a charming Primary School with excellent and dedicated teachers. Situated on the Hamilton Highway, it is the midway point between Geelong and Warrnambool. Great business opportunities exist because many travellers stop in Lismore for a rest if travelling between these two cities. The Highway itself is in excellent condition and therefore makes travel swift and safe if wishing to go to either towns. The nearest big town is in Camperdown (a 35 minute drive). Lismore has lake Tooliorook, which is a popular site for camping. A beautiful lake, teaming with native birdlife. Lismore has a Supermarket, Tavern, RACV, Primary School, Police Station, Arts and Crafts shop, Post Office, Take Away Shops, Antique Shop as well as others.
It is a farming community and has some awesome views on the North facing side of the town. Founded in the mid to late 1800's, many homes still exist that were built in that era. Many of the homes are situated on large blocks of land, which enable privacy and also the ability to express your individuality on your own piece of dirt.
The homes are affordable in this area. It gives people the opportunity to own thier own home, without getting into crippling debt. It is a wonderful opportunity for Families to move into a well supported area, to raise a family and live a comfortable life. Well worth the drive to come and have another look at this town.
