Macquarie Fields, NSW 2564

We have lived in the flowers estate for 10 years and its a peaceful area with nice neighbors.The shopping is OK but the restaurants are almost nonexistent
We now go to Edmondson Square for a night out

I grew up there in the 70s and 80s and apart from some friends from Mauritius the neighbors, school teachers and kids were obnoxious. Bullying was terrible. I don’t know if the place has improved or not since then, but Simmo’s is an improvement.

I lived in Macquarie Fields for 10 years. Bought my first house for the price of a unit. Is a blend of public housing tenants and privately owned properties. Some younger teens and adults look troubled but i never felt unsafe walking my dog through Simmos beach or Eucalyptus Drive. Glenquarie is great for grocery shopping. Most of all I miss the quietness if this neighbourhood. Walking to Simmos is so quiet as is the whole neighbourhood. Each time I visit I notice subtle improvements. The council is slowly improving the natural environment there.

Want to get your kids hooked on drugs and lose their future to the streets? Macquarie Fields is the place for you. An affordable, yet somewhat dodgy suburb filled with your local neighbourhood watchdogs, petty thieves and the local neighbourhood street pharmacists, all there to assist you at any time of the day. After the second week, you get used to hearing continuous sirens and fires and rejoice that you've finally found a place to call home for the unethical, dystopian future of our children. There is no doubt about it, if you want your kids to have a bright and successful future and avoid any risks of them hanging out with the wrong crowds or developing bad habits, you're better off moving inner west or the North Shore for the wealthy. I still fail to see how anyone can enjoy living here.

One of the very well respected selective schools in the south west is in Macquarie Fields, excellent sporting facilities, family facilities and transport options. Underestimated and great value!

We lived in ryde for 3 years and wanted to make our first home, we chose macquarie fields and no regrets atall. moved in to macquarie fields 08 months ago and you find more greenery, well maintained lawns homes. more police patrols for law and order. never faced any racism, gud catchment schools.
its quiet suburb, gym , pools big grounds much more..

We've been living here for nearly 3 months and we are very happy with our choice. Our neighbours are very friendly. The suburb is growing fast with big ovals for sports activities, good primary and high schools, and new playgrounds for kids. People tend to keep their houses neat and tidy with nice front yards. The police always do their best to keep everything in order. The public transportation is also a bonus. You can travel to the central station within 50 minutes (if you depart after 8:30, there will be enough seats for everyone). From here, you can easily go to Mount Annan or Wollongong beaches to enjoy your weekends there. Highly recommended for young families and professionals.

I grew up in Mac Fields '76-96. It's different know but that's okay. It always had a good mix of cultures, and we took the piss out of each other but it was generally friendly banter.
As I moved through school we gained Edeliston Oval and the Recreation Centre. Mac' Fields has the pool, tennis, shop, sporting grounds, river reserve and fab camp up at Long Point!
Get outdoors and experience Simmo's Beach.
Start a dawn yoga on Milton Park ( Warren Ritchie Oval) and get a coffee van down afterwards.

We recently purchased a house in Macquarie Fields after having lived in sydney for a decade. As we still work in Sydney we wanted a house with greater proximity and access to the M5 with reduced travel time to the city. It has proven to be a great decision and it is great to be able to step in and out of the bubble that is Sydney. The area is changing and improving rapidly with increased real estate development. Betong thai in Macquarie fields makes the best Thai food in the Macarthur region on par with sthada in Darlinghurst. A great cafe in the area serving Campos coffee is the only thing missing!

The neighbourhood is beautifully clean and good place to buy a land but there might be some issues if a person living here . This is an issue I'm seeing on the streets especially on the way to station. High school students calling out pass payers to 'to go back to their country' and more racist speeches as well. I am truly disgusted by this behaviour and seriously questioning what type of parenting and education system is being put in place to stop such acts. So if someone who read this is living in the neighbour hood, please try stop this issue from happening. If you are a parent of these children please educated your children as it is your responsibility to rise then to who they are becoming. I don't want this area to be graded as a racist suburb.
