Mirrabooka, NSW 2264

Unless you are a local it is unlikely you have heard of Mirrabooka. Positioned perfectly on the shores of Lake Macquarie this suburb is popular among retirees and families and ideal for boating enthusiasts. Mirrabooka is part of Morisset Peninsula, an increasingly popular position more recently known for the controversial development Trinity Point. Dandaraga Road provides both absolute and waterfront reserve opportunities. Closest primary school is Bonnells Bay Public which feeds to Morisset High School. The train station at Morisset provides great opportunities for commuters to have the best of both, work life in the city and quiet life at home. Nearby shops at Bonnells Bay provides a Coles, butcher, baker, medical center, pharmacy and a number of takeaway options. The Bay Hotel is a popular drinking hole for locals and featuring fun nights with local bands. A fine dining option has just been provided at Trinity Point, great food and exceptional service.

Mirrabooka, what can I say, I have lived her for 15 of the best years of my life. It is truly the best address in all of Lake Macquarie. It is quiet and freindly. I have not locked my car in all the time i've lived here. The hustle and bustle (if required) is only 40mins away (Newcastle) andfor those who want it (Sydney is less than an hour by road (F3). Transport is great, schools are great, shopping also with 2 coles and Wollies, Great fishing for those inclined, fast food with KFC, Maccas and subway. Several restarunts, clubs and pubs. A place with something for everyone.

I moved to Mirrabooka as a child, nearly 11 years ago and I have loved living here.
We are friends with every one in the street, there is a little shopping village 4 minutes away, and it is safe enough to walk your dog at night. It is 10 minuets away from Morisset train station, and 15 minutes to the F3 freeway. The cost of living is moderate. People fish, play golf, ride bikes, go boating, walk their dogs, go to the gym, shop at Bonnells bay shops, Morisset Square, Westfield Tuggerah, Toronto Town Square, or Charlestown Square. Most of the kids go to Morisset High School, it has an average reputation but if you have a kid that wants to learn they will. If you have a child that needs a more shelterd environment I would recommend Charlton Christan College or Avondale. Every where from Silver Water, Sunshine, Bonnelles Bay, Yarrawonga Park, Balcolyn, and the surrounding suburbs are similar to Mirrabooka in lifestyle and people. Of course the newer areas are better, but they are also more expensive. The only negative thing i can think of is that our cars have been egged a couple of times in the past 11 years.
