"Beautiful Place!"

Mooloolaba has got to be one of the most beautiful places on the Sunshine Coast. Always buzzing with locals and tourists no matter what time of year. Along the esplanade you can treat yourself to so many delightful things such as restaurants, cafes, clothes shops, ice cream and more!
Hidden away, you can find peace along the serene canals down some of the back streets. These homes are a perfect escape from the craziness of the main esplanade. Mooloolaba really is a place for anyone!

"Underrated part of the coast"

Mooloolaba is a great place to live. It may not have the celebrity fans that Noosa does, but it does have the following:

Best beachfront area with playgrounds and bbq's
You can sit on the beach and not have resorts directly behind you (we are talking about you Noosa!)
Best and freshest seafood on the coast available from the Spit
Great calm swimming areas for littlies down the Spit end of the beach
Lots of parkland areas along the beach
Mooloolaba rockpools
Head up for sunset drinks and nibblies at Alexandra Headland hill/lookout
Great range of competitively priced restaurants and cafes
Sea Life/ Underwater World
5 minutes drive to the best coast shopping- Sunshine Plaza
In the catchment area for the BEST public high school on the coast- Mountain Creek
Close to the coast's best private schools
Best ocean access for boats
Cheaper median house price than Noosa Heads/Sunshine Beach

"Think again"

Lived here for 10+ years. Nice place to holiday and living close to the beach is great. However, housing is over priced as well as renting. The problem with Mooloolaba is when the sun goes down. This is partly due to the amount of nightclubs and pubs along the main strip and the large amount of rented units/houses which allows a cheap route for the deadbeats to live together and afford to live in the area. A typical night and early mornings in a residential area of Mooloolaba you will have to deal with the drunks and deadbeats walking to and from the clubs/pubs causing all sought of trouble (e.g. fighting, loud disorderly behaviour). Hence, this is not the safest place you would want to go for a night time walk especially on a Friday and Saturday night; It really has become a mini Gold coast. Cops are everywhere roaming the suburb at nights (and rightly so) and it wasn't a typical Friday or Saturday night in Mooloolaba with out a cop car's siren whizzing by the front of my house ( and I didn't even live on the main drag). Crime rates here especially assaults are underreported. Tip, if you do indeed to decide to move to Mooloolaba, Pick a spot/street/road which is least likely to be used by deadbeats to come and go from the nightlife.

"The Esplanade in the sun!"

On a sunny morning Mooloolaba Esplanade is spectacular with the sun glistening on the sea and fishing boats crossing the horizon. Later in the day there is a real buzz about it with locals and tourists meeting in the many cafes, it’s the perfect place to wander round the shops and art galleries. If the kids are with you there are plenty of free bbqs for a lively lunch with a play area and of course you can bring them to the patrolled beach for a dip in the ocean. Parking can be a difficult to find but if you park a little bit away and make a short walk to the esplanade you shouldn't have a problem.

"Live like you're on a holiday everyday.."

My partner and I moved here almost 5 months ago. The drive up here from Tasmania was amazing. A week before we actually moved up, we came up for 4 days to find a house, have a job interview and what not. It was our first time being here and we fell in love. We chose moving to the Sunshine Coast because they had better structure at the uni for my partner. Mooloolaba makes you feel like you're on a holiday every day. Every one is so friendly. It's a safe little community with so much to do. The night life is great, if its just a couple of quiet drinks with friends, The Lounge Bar in First Ave is the place to go. Mooloolaba Surf Club have great live band, and the same at the Wharf Tavern. The good thing about Mooloolaba is that it is still just a hop, skip and a jump to almost everything. If you have never been to Mooloolaba, seriously you will fall in love the first time you come here.. Just like I did.

"Holiday Everyday"

Fantastic place to work, visit & holiday. The esplanade is one of the best on the east coast with many great cafe's, restaurants and bars to sit back relax, enjoy the view and watch the world go by. Many great dining & shopping options but at peak season (school holidays) it can get busy so plan ahead & be patient when it comes to parking. Although most people head straight for the esplanade there are some great 'not so busy' spots around the area that should be considered. Pnt Cartwright, the lighthouse and la balsa park are great places to visit for a scenic walk, picnic or BBQ. Parkyn PDF is always popular and the seafood at the wharf is second to none, just try to find a quiet spot to enjoy Mooloolaba Bay (great swimming spot for the kids).

"Mooloolaba - beaches, cafes, surf and shops."

Mooloolaba is a well known beachside town on the southern end of the Sunshine Coast an hour north of Brisbane. This town attracts many tourists yet is a much loved local area. Mooloolaba has a very beachy, trendy atmosphere with cafes and bistros on the beachfront with golden beaches and great surf. Close to theme parks, major shopping centers and specialty shops there is great accommodation choices for the tourist and although home prices are rising Mooloolaba is still a great place to nest or invest. The friendly atmosphere in the town combined with the closeness to Brisbane and Maroochydore make this a very popular destination.

"The best place to live or visit on holiday."

Mooloolaba is a wonderful place to live and to visit for holidays. The weather lends itself to lots of outdoor living all year round. It has a fantastic surf beach on one side with a river estuary a short walk away. For visitors there is excellent accommodation along the beach with cafes overlooking the ocean. The area is safe and attracts a lot of family holiday makers as it is a little bit more laid back in lifestyle. It is a short drive to many entertainment facilities and only a 45 minute drive up in to the hills that cater for day visitors and where the shops carry a quality range of small giftware.

Local residents are friendly and embrace the fact that they live in such an idyllic situation and encourage visitors to their city. It is a 10 minute drive north or south to shopping centres which cater for all needs.
