Reviews of North St Marys, NSW
"Could be better"
Lived in this area for close to 13 years.
It's a work in progress, some of the houses are a bit run down and others are brand new. I expect with the new airport and train station we'll see newer housing going up.
Police haven't been very helpful in this area.
There's an ongoing noise issue on Cedar Crescent with neighbours having excessively loud parties well into the early morning hours nearly every weekend. Police have been called multiple times but don't want to come out.
"Living in St Marys"
Overall, I’ve been living in north st marys for 6-7 years now. The experience was all ok. It is affordable, close to train station within walking distance. Luckily airport metro will be built under the current train station soon so I expect this area will be changed for better. Neighbors are all ok.

"Affordable, quiet, safe"
North St. Marys has been my home for the past 25 years; during that time the general mix of people into the area has changed; once thought of as a rough area, it is now a quiet, safe, affordable area for anyone from families, children, business people, singles, trendy, retirees and gays. In the main, the people are very nice, of average income or higher however there are still some unemployed and pensioners/retirees, most are well educated and most of the young people have attended or are attending TAFE or University and have careers. There never very many houses for sale in North St. Marys because most people who settle here simply stay. Contrary to popular belief, the only yahoos we get in the area are those young people who come from other areas and make a nuisence of themselves from time to time --- the yahoos are never local kids. You can walk around North St. Marys very late at night without fear of any harm coming to you; about the only thing you see is the local moggies. Because it is so affordable as well as so near to transport - trains to the City run every twenty minutes while the local bus runs every 15 minutes ---- with shopping centres all within walking distance, a good high school and primary school, purpose-built Community Centre and another Community Centre, Seniors' Centre and purpose-built Cutural Centre at St. Marys just 0.5kms away, several nice clubs, including its lovely Band Club, restaurants and take-aways, churches of every denomination, tolerant of every nationality and so close to Penrith, Blue Mountains and Windsor, it is a good area for everybody. At the Cultural Centre there is an Art group, China Painting group, Historical Society, Heritage Sewing group, CWA group, Dancing School. We also have at least three large parks in the area. The only noisy street is perhaps Forrester road but that quietens down by 6pm and does not start up until 5am in the morning and is deadly quiet during the weekends. Unfortunately, it has been in the media for some crime twice during 2010 but that was the first time in the past 25 years to my knowledge -- and I live here! ----- Gemmabella

"Affordable location with down to earth locals"
Located close to Penrith, North St Marys has excellent access to public transport which includes a direct train to the city and frequent bus services to Penrith. There is plenty of shopping centres and access to Dunheaved Industrial area only streets away. Plenty of nightlife with many pubs and clubs in the area. All things considered St Marys North is an affordable area which boarders the newly established Mirvac estate of Ropes crossing complete with new schools and shooping centre.
