Reviews of Oonoonba, QLD
"Infra Structure Improvements"
Oonoonba is one of a few affordable suburbs left in Townsville with close proximity to the CBD, at 3-4km. The vast majority of blocks are 1/4 acre and the area is about to benefit from several infrastructure & retail outlet improvements.
The main throughway traffic, Abbott St will shortly be diverted, eventually changing this to a one-way street. This will almost ceratinly improve the appeal of the suburb, in particular Abbott St not to mention further improving security too. The new Port Access Road Project, scheduled to be completed by 2011 will also divert all heavy vehicular traffic travelling to the Townsville Port.
Two seperate retail complex's have recently been opened within 2km of this suburb offering numerous new retail outlets, eatery’s & a new Bunning’s store, the second for Townsville has now began construction. This further enhances the liveability of Oonoonba.
