"Top suburb within easy distance of the city"
I love Sinnamon Park! I feel this suburb has it all. Open spaces, parks and greenery, while also being within close proximity to the city and transport options. Some parts of Sinnamon Park are within walking distance of the Darra train station. It has several shopping centres just a couple minutes drive away, yet it still remains quiet and peaceful. I have found this suburb to be full of friendly people, which is a great bonus! The Edenbrooke park offers fantastic walking/cycling options as well as a large, beautiful lake, park and playground. Can't beat this place!

"Convenience living"
I live in the more reasonably priced south side of Sinnamon Park and all my needs are conveniently located close by.
Getting in and out of the city is easy with Darra train station only a 20 minute walk, 5 minute drive or 10 minute bus ride away, where you can get an express train which takes 15 minutes to get to Roma Street. If you prefer the drive, on the M5 or M7 it will take 30+ minutes in peak traffic but is halved outside this time, this might be similar for the bus as there is no busway.
Mount Ommaney shopping centre is a 10 minute walk or <5 minute drive or you can go to the DFO or home maker centre in similar times. If you want something more upmarket with a cinema then Westfield Indooroopilly is not that much further up the road and makes for a good night out.
There are plenty of parks and recreation areas to choose from, although an off leash dog park would be beneficial for people on the south side of the suburb, as the one park available is over 3km away.

"Family friendly with easy access to the city"
Sinnamon Park is an excellent family friendly suburb. It has easy access to Mt Ommany shops which have recently been redeveloped and now include Coles, WW, Aldi, Kmart, Big W and Target. Excellent local parks and easy access to Rocks Riverside Park for family gatherings and community events.
For those who work in the city, the area is well serviced by bus and there is a choice of local bus which service Darra and Oxley stations during peak hours.
We are more than happy having purchased our home in this family friendly, safe suburb.

"Great for families, and room to grow"
Great location, with near new homes with all major amenities and parks close by. The Rocket bus into town is brilliant, and the main stop is in Mount Ommaney shopping centre with runs to Indooroopilly, Toowong, City and Valley. The train is a let down - the nearest station is Darra and the train takes longer than the bus.
Heaps of large good quality homes aged between 10 and 20yrs old, but beware of dodgy agents. Stick to the big franchises and you won't have problems, but the one-shop independents and 'boutique' agencies are notorious for not following correct procedures or paperwork and carrying out rental inspections that fail both lessor and lessee...choose very carefully and don't pick anyone out of the area - local knowedge is a must. Make sure everything works in the property too - some of these homes are getting older and hot water systems, plumbing, electrical systems and sewage piping will be needing care in some places.
Downsides...NO CINEMAS, NO ADULT ENTERTAINMENT!! Cinemas were rumoured to have been considered by the owners of the shopping centre during its redevelopment, but there were no takers - nearest cinemas are Indooroopilly and the local pubs are good for meals only - no entertainment or nightclubs (foodwise, the Monier Hotel in Darra is the pick of the bunch). Also, the shopping centre is a mall brat magnet because there is little apart from a skate bowl and some parks for the kids to hang out in - teenagers should be encouraged to bus it in to Indooroopilly or the City for movies. The biggest tragedy was the demolition of the Amazons water park on the river some ten years ago...extremely popular and sorely missed. The standard of restaurants is ok, but go into Kenmore or Indooroopilly for Indian, and if you want variety apart from the usual fast food joints, head there too. The area sorely needs a Sizzlers or Lone Star steakhouse, and it will go gangbusters from day one when it opens.

Agree with your sentiments Steven, however the "no train service" is a bit misleading. People who live on the southern side of Sinnamon Park have an easy walk or a direct bus (451) to Darra rail station. When I worked in the city it was pleasant 20 min walk each day through parkland to the station.
