Stanhope Gardens, NSW 2768

A pleasant suburb to live in especially for families with children. It has a bit of everything - schools, shops, parks, green streetscape, nice blocks and nice (newer) homes, convenient public transport, and a family feel. Go to Connor Greasby park on any given day and you'd see kids playing on playground, playing basketball, soccer, cricket etc. Many parks and playgrounds walkable from most parts of the suburb (we have 5 playgrounds within 800m). Houses are large (but not monstrous constructions that swallow the land), well-maintained, with nice gardens offering a green and leafy feel to the area. Most homes are no older than 20 years old, and many are kept well-maintained and updated. A few newer homes built in last 3 years as well. Homes that are walking distance to metro are being priced higher since the new metro going in, as they're probably attracting those who regularly commute to city (about 1 hour door to door to the CBD) but still want a nice house to head home to.

I have lived Stanhope Gardens over 20 years, and seen this quaint suburb progress slowly. It now has close access to the metro railway (although not walking distance ) and you have access to bus Tways. It has alot of open spaces, softball fields and parkland areas for little ones to ride bikes or dog walking. The local shopping centre is sufficient but carpark struggles with congestion . It has Kmart , Coles and Aldi big draw cards and by car you are 15 mins drive to Rouse Hill town centre. One problem is Stanhope Gardens is based/designed around one very dangerous busy road Stanhope Parkway. Notorious for pedestrian and car accidents. We live off this road and believe it needs policing . Also Stanhope Gardens doesn't actually have it's own primary or high school. Be prepared to travel out of suburb and fight morning and afternoon traffic to get there. Our primary school we selected offers no suitable buses. It also doesn't have it's own petrol station , so you also need to be prepared to drive out of suburb. I feel Stanhope gardens has potential, but still lacking infrastructure and major drawcards.

Quiet, green and a beautifully designed suburb

Stanhope Gardens is a lovely place to call home, it has a great sense of welcome. Close to a wide choice of schools. The shopkeepers and locals at the Stanhope Village Shopping Centre are helpful and friendly as well as the nearby Aquatic Centre. Friendly faces at 'Top Juice' and their amazing Acai breakfast ideas, chocolate strawberries and smoothies and many more specialty shops. Local Tennis courts across the road at the Blacktown Leisure Centre. Court hire is $10/hour day/night. Softball and more... Close to the metro line for access for work or going out and about.

It is a great place to call home. Located near the Kellyville metro station, has a nice decent size shopping centre, right next to the Blacktown Leisure Centre. In terms of Crime rate, it is ranked one of the lowest suburb in the greater Sydney region. Because this suburb is fairly new, the scenery is sublime. The only drawback is too far from the beach.

I have lived in Stanhope Gardens now nearly 13 years. Out of the dozen or so places I have lived in Sydney over the last 55 years, this is a dream place. No crime, no ratbags, no noise, just wonderful people. Doctors abound-Dentist too, and shopping that you can get everything you just about need. If your smart (you go early to shop). Avoid maybe the only small drawback, a very busy car park. Buses to take you to Blacktown, or one of many other places nearby. Yes, even buses on weekdays to the City. It is very well lined with trees and more trees. A sports center that is always busy, swimming pools...Great tennis courts, Library, and even a Church service in the center's special area of a Sunday. Coffee shops, hairdressers...and a K-Mart. Stanhope Gardens is relaxed, very well mannered people all over the place, friendly and you are treated professionally wherever you shop. It also has an Aldi store too, and even though it is not some huge complex, it really is big enough believe me. You could stay in Stanhope Gardens for weeks and not have to venture out I would say for most people. It is next to another area called the Ponds, and that too is just a lovely place to live. Most of the homes are two storey and 2018 prices are around the $850,000 mark. Some do go over 1.1 million, and you can also rent if you wish too...$600 plus per week. It is a fine jewel, and really you could even walk to Parklea Markets if you are slightly fit. (Open Fri/Sat/Sun). You certainly will never come across burnt-out cars in this area, it won't happen. Screaming yahoos of Friday or Saturday night...While I am not fond of being out anywhere on foot at night, I would say you would be fairly safe here. It's also not for the sloppy -beer drinkin-thong-brigade! While you can wear thongs, non of the other is ever seen. Of course, you only get what you pay for, but as one of Sydney's best-kept secrets, it wins hands down for a very convenient life in Sydney's west. I would give it a 9 out of 10.......because it is that good!

We are first home buyers. Before buying our first home in Stanhope Gardens, we did a lot of research for about 5 months.
We went through a lot of facts, numbers and research.

Finally, when we visited a house in Stanhope gardens, we completely fell in love with place nd community.

Its a mixed community, not dominant by one culture.... Everyone is friendly and caring. A lot of families live here which is great part.
The suburb is close to 2 really good schools, a small mall. Coles nd woolies both 2 min. drive away.

Then u have Parkley market for all the fresh groceries and small shopping.

Also, there is upcoming Bella Vista and Kellyvillle metro stations (most advanced trainline system in Australia, with train every 4 minutes) coming up just 5 min drive away... Which will open a whole lot of commute options...

Suburb is 10 min drive away from norwest business Park. Possibly my future office...

Everything u need is few minutes away, but still not crowded or buzzling as some of other suburbs.

School: St John XXIII - Preschool to yr 6 & St Mark Yr 7-12. I know Preschool to yr 6 is a good school.
A lots of parks, walk/bicycle path, playground, basketball courts.
Professional lives in the area.
Nearby shops & dining: Stanhope Village, Parklea Market, Rouse Hill town centre, Ettamogah pub
Sports: Stanhope Leisure Centre with swimming pool, gym, tennis courts.
Library: Denis Johnson Library .
Transport to City, Parramatta, Macquarie, - Hills buses with dedicated bus lane - 70%, takes around 1-1.2 hrs to the city. I am expecting the travel time to improve once M2 North Connex project finishes in 2019. - North West Rail Link would hopefully be operational by early 2019, this would give another option to commute to work.

A great place to live and raise a family. I have been living in this suburb since 2006. And I think it will only get better.
