I bought a 2 bedroom home here on a large block in 2023. I'm a year into the renovation and it's going well. I find the area mostly pretty quiet. There's a decent shopping area in Glengala road and it's not far from Coles Ardeer. Very easy access to the M80. Sunshine social is a good spot to have a meal or drinks with friends. I'm glad I moved here and see myself staying here in the long term.

I have lived more than 5 years in this suburb. This suburb is a good place for first home owners if you work in Melbourne CBD and have young kids. The suburb is close to both Ardeer station and Sunshine station ( less than 20 mins by train to the City loop). Your kids have many school options from both public and Catholic schools . Recently, Sunshine college, Sunshine West campus has been upgraded with more than 30 million funding from the government. St Paul primary school and Marian colleges are very good Catholic schools too. Unlike other western suburbs, Sunshine West is greenery with many houses having well-maintained gardens.

Very peaceful area with handy amount of parks and local facilities, home to decent schools, coviniently located to public transport and high ways accessing to the CBD and other regional cities.

Sunshine West is 13KMs away or 19mins away via train to CBD. Great place with decent schools and local cafes. I've just moved here a month ago from Point Cook and I can say that this is the best decision ever. Tons of buses going around the neighborhood which Point Cook or new suburb is lacking.

Sunshine west has really outperfomed expectations as a very vibrant, sophisticated suburb. Only 13km to the city, Sunshine west is gentrifying fast! With road and infrastructure projects, developments, the new 37 million dollar state of the art 7-12 Sunshine college being constructed located just off Wright St, and trendy cafes. Sunshine is destined to become a major Hub and will be in demand. Theres also no crime in this suburb as I have been a resident for 35 years.
THE MELBOURNE AIRPORT RAIL LINK due to commence 2022 and a new Super station being planned. Theres many reasons to love sunshine west.

One of Melbourne's wasteland suburbs that people ignore.

We bought 18 months ago with the intention of eventually moving down from Sydney. What people from Melbourne don't realise is that while they think Sunshine is bad, compared to what you get in Sydney in terms of proximity to the CBD and land prices, it's an absolute bargain. As more and more families from Sydney move to Melbourne because they cannot afford a house in Sydney, the 'ferals' as someone has referred to them will be forced out by higher rents or move out because they're selling on and 'upgrading' further away. The same thing happened in Sydney 15 years ago. People questioned why anyone would buy in the inner west (before it became the hot bed it's become) and now those early adopters are the ones laughing. As house prices in Footscray, West Footscray continue to rise, so too will Sunshine and Sunshine West. Lots of people like older houses too, and as soon as you go past Sunshine, it's all home world. It might take another 10 years, but Sunshine West will become a great place for young professionals and families - the ever increasing apartment development in the area will bring more people and more culture to the area - and all this does is increase the desirability of the area.

We built and moved to sunshine west (Callaway park) recently after renting for several years in Pascoe Vale. When I was living in Pascoe VaIe it used to take me 1hour and 15 to reach my work place because of trams and low speed zones. Since we moved to sunshine west the western ring road make the morning drive to the city fast and less stressful. It only take 20 minutes or worst case scenario 40 mins when there is heavy traffic on west gate. In terms of Public transport there are two stations close by with in 2km distance one at Ardeer V line and another at Sunshine, even totenham station is not that far. It is the best decision we have made. Our neighbours are friendly. There are retires as well as young families. The only problem is there are no good public or private school close to the area which doesn't worry us at the moment

Best place to live in at affordable prices.
Close to city and easy access to airport. Easy access to travel around any part of Melbourne. Good schools & parks, big regional train station, cycling and walking track, lots of medical center's around. Sunshine & Sunshine West is a place, people who love sports and friendly neighborhood.
Brimbank council is just awesome.
