Reviews of Wilton, NSW
"Wilton is a growing area with major developments taking place. They are looking to build approximately 16,000 new home owner the next 20-30 years. People love to buy here for the community feel, great school and golf course."
Wilton is ideally positioned between Picton, Campbelltown and the beautiful beaches of Wollongong. Renowned for its relaxed semi rural lifestyle and community friendly atmosphere, it is very popular with young families. Only 2 minutes away from the F5 freeway and only a 25 min drive to Wollongong beautiful beaches.

"A really nice, established estate"
Bingara Gorge in Wilton is a great new estate, situated on the freeway, close to Sydney and Wollongong. The estate has lots of facilities including tennis courts, pools, gym and country club, shops and little boutique cafes. The feeling you get driving down the winding leafy roads are spectacular. Bingara Gorge is a great place to raise a family, but it is very expensive and popular with professionals.

"Wilton - small village adjacent to Bingarra Gorge (new development)"
Wilton is a small village 20 mins south of the Macarthur area. Very little facilities however attracted us due to its quiet and safe location. We have lived here for 13 years. Our kids went to the local public schools by bus ie in Picton. The area has unfortunately, dropped in standard over the last few years. Possibly this is partly to due to a nearby estate (Bingarra Gorge) which is much bigger and newer than the Wilton village. The village has a lot older houses from estates etc and are going very cheap and attracting less desirable people. With the local council serving such a large area with limited funds and staff its becoming a less desirable place to live. In addition to small police station in nearby Picton isn't even open at night. In comparison to other nearby areas, quieter in general but if you get a noisy neighbour you're on your own. Crime rate is lower than Macarthur area but so are facilities, ie shops, medical centre 15 kms away. There is no real public transport. A bus goes to Picton twice a day that's it.
Great for
- Low crime
- Mostly quiet
- Clean
Not great for
- Few facilities
- No transport
- Isolated
