Reviews of Surf Avenue, Skenes Creek
"Perfect combination of sea, sun, winter storms and safe family getaways"
Skene's Creek is a hamlet 5 minutes North of Apollo Bay on the Great Ocean Road.
Surf Ave is one street back from the beach with magnificent views of the Bass coast in both directions and hills behind.
It's 30 or so minutes along to Lorne and a bit more hustle bustle, but the peace and quiet and perfect beach make Skene's a hidden gem.
A 40 or so minute walk along the beach to cafe's and restaurants, hospital, golf, shops, the harbour and supermarket make it a brilliant combination of convenience and remoteness.
With cool, sometimes blowy winters and long warm summer days, hardly any traffic and a few streets to the beach at most, it is TOPS...
And all barely 2 hours from the West Gate Bridge.
As close to heaven as we know of.
