Reviews of Taroona, TAS
"Friendliest, safest place in tasmania."
Having lived intermittently in Taroona over many years I now would not live anywhere else. It is very difficult to buy into the area because once people move here they never want to leave it, so very few houses come on to the market.
Taroona is a quiet and very friendly area. People usually greet each other when on walks, and there are many lovely walks including along the beaches, which are proper sand beaches not river mud.
Many houses here have marvellous views of the river and estuary. We see the ocean liners and sydney to hobart yachts coming in.
There are barbecues, bowls club, tennis courts, skateboard park, scouts hall, community hall available; even a community garden.
There is now a restaurant in the old hotel where you can also go just for coffee and a new cafe/deli is soon to be opened.
It is a wonderful place to live and I love it.
