Where to move in Tassie?
Which areas in Tas are the best to move to?
We don't want to be in the city, somewhere nice and bushy, but still closish to civilization.
Also, is anyone able to tell me about the employment rate? My partner would be looking for either a driving job or something he could use his rsa for. I would be looking for anything with animals, horse studs preferably. Also vets and pet shops.
Any info much appreciated. Thanks!

From what I know unemployment is higher in Tasmania than southern mainland Australia because of the small population and limited opportunities, but don't let that deter you. I'm sure certain skills are in demand and people that want to live in country areas can usually find work due to the skills shortage.
Have only been to the two places as tourist... they are very different climate wise. QLD is typically warm and humid whilst Tasmania has distinct four seasons and even snow in winter. Is that something that you would factor in?
Good thing about Tassie is that it is small and you can be in a country area while also only being 15 or so mins from centre of town! For example, we have a property on the market that is a large house on 42 acre, all set up for horses but only 25 mins to centre of Hobart. That would cost you a mill or more in many areas of the mainland but will be around half that here in Tassie - house prices are so much lower. Beautiful area, lovely scenery, bring your winter woolies! Good schools in most areas. I dont think a good driver would have problems finding work.
We are located in Launceston, Tasmania which has a population of approx 90,000 people. The great thing about Launceston is you can drive for 15 minutes and be in perfect horse country or in a fantastic wine region. You can find acreage at a reasonable price and still be only 15 minutes from the CBD. Visit our website www.bushby.com.au to view some of our fantastic listings that may suit your needs.
take a visit to south east of tas as we have found this to be just far enough out of town but still close enough to commute to an area to work in
dodges ferry , primrose sands , 20 minutes to growing sorell township and a further 15 minutes to Hobart
go on give it a visit !
