I’m with Optus and live on Waterworks Road near the Village and I get at MOST two bars of reception. It’s terrible. I’m not sure if I’m just in a dead zone or if it’s Optus but I have to connect to the Wifi to use my phone, and even then we have issues with the Wifi as well!

I am with Vodafone which is generally the worst of the 3 major carriers and I don't have any issues with reception in the Gap for either phone or data.

It probably depends on your phone carrier. I have issues from time to time with my phone dropping out but generally it's pretty good.
