Toogoolawah is a great town with friendly locals. It is a good place to raise a family or retire too. Unfortunately employment opportunities are not great and travelling distance to major towns/cities is excessive for daily travel. The local parks are decent for a small country town and there are plenty of community groups for people of all ages. Overall, a good place if your not after professional employment or a wide range of employment opportunities.

Toogoolawah is a country town only 1 hr from Brisbane & Caboolture. The town is well serviced and the locals are friendly. Like most small towns you just about know everyone, which has its pros and cons. But a town is made by its people and 90% of the people are good honest people. I love living in the Brisbane Valley.

Toogoolawah is situated in the middle of the spokes of a wheel that can take you to Kingaroy, Sunshine Coast, Caboolture, Brisbane, Ipswich, Gatton, Toowoomba (Oakey), all within 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours leisurely drive. There is a Courthouse (Dept of Tranport), Police Station, a Bowling Green, a Primary School, a High School, a Swimming Pool, Beach Volleyball, Tennis Courts, Skatepark, Movie Theatre, Post Office, three Pubs, three Petrol Outlets, Cafes, IGA, Butcher, Post Office, Toyota Dealership, Produce Retailers, ANZ Bank, Corner Store, RSL - the list goes on. What more do you want. There's even 'Sunday Trading'. Other business' include Glass Repairs, Dog Wash, Lawn Mowing, Baby-sitting, Painters, Builders, Plumbers, Electricians, Auto Repair, Transport, Legal Firms, 'Bargain' shops, and Video Hire.
The people are friendly, and crime is all but gone. The 'Court Report' lists driving over .05 offences, and possession of a 'smoking' implement, in the main. Why would you want to live anywhere else?

Toogoolawah is a real country town. It is only small and it services the local farming commuity.

If you are wanting to drive to Toowoomba from the Sunshine Coast you either have to go south through Brisbane and then through Ipswich, or you take the inland road and pass through Toogoolawah. For this reason the little town has good food takeaway places, probably better than one would expect for the size of the town.

Lake Wivenhoe and Lake Somerset are not too far away and they are very popular fishing spots for the locals.

Many coast people head in this direction if they want a country style holiday and a 'get away from it all' break.
