I will be working in Cessnock, would you recommend living at the Lake or perhaps Maitland area?

I was brought up and lived in Bolwarra, Maitland for 20 years. I've also travelled extensively and lived in other eastern coastal areas before settling to Sugar Bay, Brightwaters and personally wouldn't return to Maitland in a pink fit, due to cold winters - hot summers, and distance from lake and coast. The paradise like lifestyle offers healthy water sport activities with coastal beaches close and only 55 minutes to North Sydney. As far as your investment in property, with the opening of the new Hunter link I believe that the demand is going to drastically increase. Between me you and the lamp post you should stay in Maitland...because the less people around here the better!!
Most definently up the maitland area which there are a range of suburbs like east maitland, thornton, morpeth which have some beautiful homes and are very family orientated areas

The Cessnock area has changed over the past 10 years. Many new families moving into the area. Not just Cessnock but Aberdare, Kearsley, Paxton, Lovedale.
There is now a great independent Christian College which caters for Prep - Year 12 plus has DayCare Centre and a DALE school.
Great cafes and restaurants and the shops are starting to change again. Service in all shops is amazing. Friendly residents.
And with the new express way it’s only 40-50 minutes into places such as John Hunter Hospital.
Come and take a look. ❤️
