Worst suburbs?

Townsville, QLD 4810 is located within the null local government area, part of the Northern Region in Queensland.

Hi my husband and I will be relocating from near cairns to Tsvl soon and will be renting for now (we own our own home here and don't want to be rash) anyway my husband is born and bred from townsville but left in 1991 so obviously things have changed a lot. Looking at finding out which suburbs are a straight out no go zone I'm aware all suburbs will of course have problems but don't want to be renting with kids in an area known for high drugs break and enter etc. My husband's job will be in the Aitkinvale area but happy to commute etc thank you

Be careful of buying in Soouth Townsville as when there is a king tide and a lot of rain, you may flooded out.
Every other suburb has something good about it, depending on if you want to live by the sea or up on the river. The roads are good, check out your house thoroughly. Check the neighbourhood and your neighbours. I was lucky I bought in a small court in Rasmussen which is one of the cheapest suburbs but it was lovely and quite with beautiful neighbours. The new ring road takes you quickly to the uni and the hospital and into the town centre. There are plenty of cinemas, shopping centres and great places to visit. It's good for families and if you enjoy the footy or intellectual pursuits you'll be in clover!
