Easy enough to walk to local schools / stations in the Upwey / Upper Gully area?
Upwey, VIC 3158 is located within the Yarra Ranges local government area, part of the Melbourne (Greater) Region in Victoria.
For a family of four with two young children and one parent who doesn't yet drive - is it easy enough to walk to local stations and schools? Are the roads too steep for a frequent walk? Which parts of Upwey are good for this kind of lifestyle?

Hi Dean. Upwey's train station is centrally located to the town centre and most places are a short ( 15min or less) walk away. The hills aren't too bad and there are generally good footpaths. Bus services connecting to train stations are a bit scarce and follow major roads like Burwood Hwy, mast gully road, etc. ther is little parking for cars at Upwey but plenty at upper ferntree gully.
Google maps is a great tool to check how long it would take to walk to the station!!
