There are Midgies for sure but it is seasonal and if there's a breeze they can't land. it didn't stop me from buying ... it's so great living up here. ; 0

As with any coastal area it all depends on how close you are to the water. We are in Chantilly Street and never had a problem with midges. Mosquitos are the same as anywhere else. Great area close to the boat harbour and shopping centre and somehow seems to be the quieter area of town.

We are in Chantilly Street and haven't had any issue with midgie's at all. It all depends on how close you are to the mangroves/creeks. Mosquito's are the same as anywhere else. It's a beautiful quiet area and close to the beach, boat harbour, shops and schools. We love it!!

Sandflies are effectively a terrible issue in the Urangan area, more specifically in Pulgul Street. I rented a place in The Domain and oh boy... it's bad!!

I'm considering moving out. People say that they are seasonal, but meanwhile I have have my hands, legs and feet bleeding and with blisters on a daily basis, I can't get to sleep more than 3 hours a night because that's how bad the itching and bleeding is.

We could safely assume that I'm the only one having this issue, but no, my next door neighbor is moving out as well in February because her and her 2 kids cannot deal with sandflies issue no more.

Living close to the water as people have claimed is not the real issue here, I lived for a year in Point Vernon, literally at 2 steps from the beach... never had a sandfly issue, ever... this area is effectively worse.

It is not a Urangan area issue at all it is anywhere close to mangroves such as The Domain.
I lived at The Doimain for 3 years and yes the midges/sandflies are bad there because mangroves and Pulgul Creek are right behind the complex.
We are now living 1 street back from Pulgul St and have no issues with midges/sandflies.
