South Street
26th October 2023

"Close to the action but really quiet"

We bought a place here a few years back - it's a dead end street and really quiet, although only a minute or two drive to the water. Most people here are retirees who love their boats and keep their properties very tidy.

"Quiet, really close in court"

The Court is gradually seeing the houses being renovated - it is super close to the town centre and is really quiet.

Morwell

"A town which can only improve"

Morwell has been a bit down on its luck for some years. However, it's inexpensive housing, proximity to Melbourne and good educational/sporting facilities mark it as a place with potential.
It has all the base retail, medical and professional services and is very close to nearby national parks and beaches. And the Federation University campus is only a 15 minute drive or bus trip, Only 9km east is the much larger town of Traralgon with a strong cafe culture, something Morwell does lack. The town is now the subject of significant Government attention following the closure of Hazelwood Power Station, and there are plans to invest in better facilities and urban improvements. The hourly train service and duplicated freeway to Melbourne is also great.
