Jamisontown

"A great central location"

Jamisontown, is a very community based suburb, so much so, I decided to ask the friendly local residents for their views on Jamisontown in order to write this review.

I ask'd the residents for just 2 things they could say about Jamisontown for my blog; explaining its for the people who do not know Jamisontown, or maybe looking to move to the area...
To make sure of their knowledge base, I also ask'd how long had they been living here? And can I say, It says a lot about a suburb, when most people i speak to have been here longer than 10 even 15years, and i'd also spoken to a great deal of residents that have even surpassed the 20years mark with ease. This in itself shows the magnitude of how popular this place is.

Now most residents when ask'd the question gave me more than two answers-such was their excitement to talk about their favoured area, "they love'd the quietness of the area"' and found "neighbours were very friendly here".

A lot of the residents in Jamisontown would often be able to point to others in their street by name and say how long they have been here, sorta proving to me if you like, at how well they knew them. "A great school, good kids park's & fantastic block size's " were also favourite answers amongst residents.

It has to be said though, one response I probably received the most, was its "central location". With one resident saying "I can get on my pushy and be there in five minutes", referring to the new bike lane that gives direct access to Penrith CBD and runs Parallel with Mulgoa Road.

Its hard to disagree with this"central location" answer, since Jamisontown has easy access to a connection of spine roads, main roads and the M4 motorway. These roads give access to Penrith's CBD, 4 major shopping centres (Coles/woollies, salons, clothes shops etc), bars, restaurants, fast food eateries, shopping stores (Domayne, Bunnings, Harvey Normans-you get the picture) a local cinema, fitness gym's, schools and a fantastic hospital; I could go on.....
Just out side and out of sight of Jamisontown there is a plethora of shopfront units with an array of local business' to suit practically all your needs.

Being close to the M4 has its many advantages, many residents utilise the M4 to work or shop in the city, since its >45min (in light-medium traffic times), takes them straight down with "relative ease", and with Jamisontown being a neighbour to Penrith, it gives the option of public transport from it bus routes and major train station.

I myself love the road networks, not only in getting around locally, but access i get to the city, the blue mountains, the north south & central coasts, the Hunter Valley and beyond..., of course this means there is plenty on offer and never a day of "there's nothing to do".

So come and pay us a visit... you'll soon see what we mean!

Glenmore Park

"For you or with your family!"

Glenmore Park; a few minutes from Penrith, close to the M4 giving >45min access to Sydney CBD and definitely having a lot to offer.

Glenmore Park is a very popular modern, family orientated suburb, offering; 3 highly recommendable Primary Schools, 2 exceptional High Schools and has pre-schools/nurseries in abundance; all within easy reach; making Glenmore Park an attractive educational hotspot.

Furthermore. Glenmore Park has its own shopping centre with take away restaurants, great parks, walkways and football fields, as well as many more activities and sports clubs for the kids - now they can use up all that extra energy they seem to always have.

Glenmore Park has a very warm, family friendly, community binding atmosphere with always a great neighbour on call - I guess thats one of the reasons for its low crime rate.

Depending on what type of property you're looking to live in, Glenmore Park offers small 3 bedrooms standalone homes or townhouse' to larger 5 bedroom two storey homes and of course family sized 3 & 4 bedrooms. However if you're looking for large blocks, they are few and far between- most blocks being approx under 750sq; although it does make for a cosier friendlier neighbourhood.

Having lived in glenmore park (and previously moved home from within), I can definitely recommend living in glenmore park...

Great for

  • Plenty of activities for the kids
  • Great schools to choose from
  • Low crime rate
  • Everybodys friendly
  • Its secluded off from everywhere else
  • 2 buses that run frequently through
  • Good resale value of homes
  • House proud families

Who lives here?

  • Professionals
  • Singles
  • Families with kids
  • Retirees
  • LGBT+

Hi HC,

I've created a list of pre-schools and early learning centres. This list is not exhaustive, so feel free to search using a great website I've found while searching (supplied below). I also thought i would make it a little easier to find their contacts, so i have supplied their details or websites where possible.

Unfortunately I haven't any children as yet so cannot truly comment or recommend. However can I say, I have never heard any bad reviews of any of the schools in Glenmore Park...
