"Car Broken into"
Had my car broken near Coolbellup Woolworths at night , the place is out of control. Used to be safe but now it's a dump.
Motor Vehicle Theft: Sitting at 2,013 per 100k—about 40% above WA average and 94% higher than the national average. Roughly 90% of suburbs are safer.
This isn’t a place for the faint-hearted or the forgetful. But if you like gritty realness, relative affordability, and a weird community paradox of dodgy drama meets hipster revival, Coolbellup might just deliver warts and all.
Why did you leave your car at Woolworths at night? It is closed at night with nothing else around, weird thing to do? Is this a fake review? I noticed two negative reviews got pasted almost within the same hour under different names.
Also there is video surveillance at Wooworths and the shops up there so it would be stupid to break into a car there.
I think the statistics back me up - it's my loved experience.

A car being broken into hardly "proves" anything. I've had my car broken into in Apple Cross and Dalkeith, it really proves nothing.
You left your car unattended in an abandoned car park over night which is opportunistic crime at its best and this happens in EVERY suburb.
Go look up the news in Perth and homes are being broken into, again in the most affluent suburbs, and Coolbellup.... zero reports.
The crime stats you also linked is theft, so all those local Woolworths thefts where people walk out due to the cost of living crisis, huge spike (I personally have seen it as well) and that causes the whole suburb to rise yet I've literally witnessed zero other crime, neither has anyone I've asked nor the vast majority in the whole suburb.
Sorry about your car but as I mentioned, literally your fault and would and has happened in other suburbs all over the city (and country) for that matter as the examples I gave above.

WA is above the Australian average alone so that doesn't really surprise me. Coolbellup isn't that bad at all, I've had friends and family park outside for years outside their houses here and never had an innocent.
We also walk around at all hours of the day or night and never felt unsafe.
Sounds like you were just unlucky.
I've had friends move out of Coolbellup to South Perth (very well off area and street) and had zero issues in Coolbellup for 20 years and as soon as they've moved they've got their car broken into 5 times in 2 years.
