"Great quite street perfect for families."
Rowe St is a quite street in Golden Square with very minimal traffic due to not being a throughfare (it is a no through road at one end). It is a fantastic street for families with only 200m to the Golden Square Secondary College and walking distance to Golden Square Primary School in Laurel St. Local ovals and kids playgrounds are close by, as are a local bakery, newsagency, bank, chemist, dentist, florist and hotels.
At the start of Rowe St is a dead end with a the vacant land made into a bicycle track by local children. Flora & fauna surrounds the street which the occassional kangaroo and brown snake still around. Old mines run deep through Bendigo, and Golden Square is no exception, with some old mine tunnels running under & around Rowe St.
The only noise comes from local High School students walking to and from school through the vacant land at the end of Rowe St.

Golden Square benefited from the Victorian property boom just over five years ago. Property prices in Bendigo have retained the majority of this increase, however the past year has seen a slight drop from the highest peak, with prices remaining steady. Golden Square, along with most suburbs of Bendigo, is currently a place to buy with excellent opportunities for FHBs and investment purchases (positive rental income opportunities are still available). It is not the optimal time for selling although if you purchased five plus years ago, selling would still see a large capital gain.
Great review, Carissa! How's the real estate market going in Golden Square, what are average house prices doing?
