Victoria Point

"A Water Side Family Friendly Location with Reasonable commute to Brisbane"

We bought a house in Victoria Point last year. Moved up from Sydney.

The location is just beautiful. Lots of parks for children. A few min walk to the Ferry to a calm sandy beach, 5 min drive to the bigger ferry terminal out to lots more islands. Very friendly suburb with small cafe’s, bakeries etc as well as a decent Westfields at the beginning of the point.

With lots of outdoor activities, fresh air, good sized homes and blocks, plus good State Schools and well ranked Catholic schools, this location was a great find and the place we wanted our children to grow up.

I commute into Brisbane (35-45min - nothing compared to my old Sydney commute) which is an easy enough drive.

The buses into Carindale are frequent and well serviced for those preferring public transport or you can drive to the nearby train station.

All in all we love Victoria Point.

Hi there, we too are looking at moving up there from Sydney. Do you drive to Brisbane or catch public transport? Wondering what the drive is like (nothing like the dreaded M5 I assume!!)

Hi Leigh, sorry Ive only just noticed your comment. I drive from VP. Most days its a pretty good commute. Nothing like the traffic jams that youll be used to (unless the weather is terrible). If youre going to be reliant on public transport (and want to be near the water) consider Cleavland, Manly or Wynnum - they have rail stations.
