Pacific Pines

"Not happy!!!!! Rough trade here"

we have just moved to pac pines. we are a quiet family with two little kids. The geographics of the area are very beautiful but why are there so many cave men here?? and stupid stupid hoons. my husband can not even take our children out for a nightly stroll without getting som e dickhead hanging out of the car drunk yelling god knows what at my husband and children. we had an absolute lunatic last week come screaming down the road and nearly killed himself just treatiing these roads like race tracks. Its dangerous around here i feel lucky we have only decied to lease this property because i would not recommed this area for decent people. And we agree with another writer why do these realestates let all these party animals rent all together and were are the police we have seen not one. very disappointed i fear for my kids.

Nothing you say adds up Chanel. You have only made one review and one post and both gave a very negative view towards Pacific Pines. This is obviously a dummy account for a real estate agent try to up sell overpriced property in other suburbs such as Robina. I will be writing to local voices to have you removed from the system.

You said you moved here in November now your most recent post says you moved here 2 weeks ago and already want to leave. There are too many inconsistencies and your comments are totally absurd. Pacific Pines is a fantastic family orientated suburb and I would recommend it to anyone due to the affordability and multiple benefits of the area.

If you want some valid honest information from someone that knows the area well please do not hesitate to send me a message on local voices or give me a call on 0433326097.

Chanel5 I totally agree with you, although luckily I dont live in the area, I have a friend who does. Everytime I visit I am amazed by the hoons driving like maniacs around local streets. They seem to not care about children who may be playing in the area and in fact my friends son was knocked off his bicycle by a speeding motorist. I would certainly fear for my children and in fact anyone using the roads in this area.

Also totally agree with you Chanel5. Everything you say is exactly what I experienced when I lived there. Now live in Toowong which is much more heavily populated and yet SO much quieter, despite being full of uni students. No hooning, no abuse when walking down the street.

I don't have children, but I constantly feared for the children living on Starkey Street. I was just waiting for one to be hit by one of the dickheads you mentioned.

Good on you for speaking up because it could actually save a child one day. It's a shame those with a vested interest in making money from the area don't really care about people.

Well done for speaking up Chanel, we recently moved away from the area as i did not want my son to grow up with the sound of burnouts as the soundtrack to his life, its a beautiful suburb with great facilaties, but as usual there is a few idiots who ruin it for normal decent people.

HI,
We have lived in Pac Pines foer 18 years. One of the very first in the area. It was lovely and peaceful then!

Got to expect an increase in people/traffic, but it's annoying how the Developers? or Gold Coast Council told us that Binstead Way would be a "golf course" one day. Yeah right, it's now a major through road and we cop all the noise and ridiculous amounts of traffic. It is impossible to cross to the Servo in the evening or morning.

The suburb is NOT pedestrian friendly. We have had two elderly people knocked over near us recently. CARS GO WAY TOO FAST AND THERE NEEDS TO BE SPEED HUMPS PUT EVERYWHERE, ESP PAC PINES BLVD AND CAPRICORN DRIVE!!

Another few gripes, yes there are millions of tradies living here - and they drive way too fast. That's my only gripe with them. SLOW DOWN ON THE ROADS IN PAC PINES, ute drivers. Thank goodness we live in a cul-de-sac, but have to say, no burnouts in our area.

Last one, why are the tennis courts NEVER maintained anymore? They used to be locked and well looked after. Just another ploy to "suck" the first few residents (like us) in. No one bothers withthe Old section near the courst, It's all over the hill. We don't have bike tracks, parks, ... nothing. Very poor Stocklands. You should have made the area like Springfield Lakes. Thaat's a lovely design area, with parks, etc round every corner.

We can't afford to move from here, but it's way too busy for us now. If you have lots of kids, (we don't have any), there are heaps of schools, etc and the Westfield is great, but I wouldn't buy here again, unfortunately.

Now the good points.

One good thing is the close proximity to the M1 (apart from the road noise), for access to Brisbane. That's handy. The Helensvale rail station is close by too.

It's good if you have a boat, fairly close to Para Point Boat Ramp to launch.

The other good thing is we have no floods or landslides! It's too hilly and there is rock under the homes here.

Overall, it's pretty average in Pac Pines now, but better than having no home at all, but not a patch on Runaway Bay or Paradise Point (lovely tree-lined walkways, etc).

Peter James. Not sure which Pacific Pines you are trying to sell but the one on the GC that I have lived in for the last 11 years mirrors what Chanel says in her blog. Since around 2008 the suburb has been on a down hill spiral. Abduction attemps, drug deals at the skate park, hoons (on a nightly basis using the Pac Pines blvd and Santa Isobel as there race track) lack of police in the area (the Neighbourhood Police Beat hasnt been available on the 3 instances I have had the need to contact it). The High School has a poor reputation and the primary school is getting so overcrowded with demountables its a joke. The Woolworths and town centre are unable to cope with the growth and parking is a nightmare. I rented for 12 months (2000-2001) and then bought in 2001 when it was a well maintained family friendly estate. It is now a town house riddled area and hopefully I will be moving once house prices start moving upwards again. It is hard to sell a house that has rubber tyre marks for 100 metres out the front of your house though

Hi I'm glad I read these comments. I'm moving from the UK to GC in April with my young family and don't like the sound of pacific pines, would you suggest looking at maybe oxenford or helensvale perhaps?

jess1

boxer1982 unfortunately the Northern end of the coast is growing quicker than people would like. Pacific Pines, Oxenford, Helensvale, Coomera and areas around have the same issues but in saying that each of them have some nice areas. All have pleanty to offer but I would rent for a year before committing to anything longer term just so you can get a feel for the place. If the area was that bad I would seriously sell up and take the hit but have stayed as have quite a few of our friends.

It's simple. Cheep and "value" for money for a reasons which make it cheep.
There are much nicer affordable places on the east side of the motorway any where up and down the Gold Coast.
Pac Pines is simply just outer suburb living.

These are the reported crimes. What about the unreported

glennp4

Absolutely do not move here if you have a family. There are hoons everywhere and the suburb has really gone down hill in the last couple of years especially. It's not the place it one was.
