Woronora Heights

"A great place to live!"

Along with Yarrawarrah, Woronora Heights is seen as the more affluent part of the 2233 postcode.

Nice and secluded, it is still close to the Engadine shopping hub as well as the schools. Public transport is by bus and is fairly regular.

One thing that is unique about Woronora Heights is that there are no pubs or clubs, which fits in well with the area.

Virtually all the property is houses, many good brick homes that have been build over the last 30 years.

Heathcote

"Great suburb on Sydney's fringes."

Essentially Heathcote is divided into 2 suburbs, East and West Heathcote. Surrounded by national park this is a very peaceful suburb, however it is nice and close to the shopping hub of Engadine, as well as major shopping centres in Miranda and Wollongong, however there is an IGA, butcher etc. Also has one of the best Thai restaraunts in the Shire.

One of the few downfalls is that you get a lot of traffic headingn up from the South Coast on the last day of a long weekend, however with the proposed F6 extension, this shouldn't be an issue.

Plenty of nice houses in the area, great schools and friendly people.

Great for

  • Beautiful bush surroundings
  • Really good schools
  • Virtually no crime

Not great for

  • Traffic after a long weekend

Engadine

"A big country town in Sydney"

Engadine is a great friendly suburb with a bit of country charm. It is situated right on the national park, only 15 minutes to a number of beaches, 30 minutes to Wollongong and 35 minutes to the Sydney CBD, Engadine provides the best of both worlds.

With Coles, Woolies, Franklins and Aldi there is a lot of options for shopping. Also, a good number of restaraunts scattered throughout the suburb give plenty of variety when you want to eat out.

Engadine is a huge suburb (the largest size wize in the world I believe), so there is a great variety of property available.

Great for

  • Very low crime
  • Heaps of very good schools
  • Friendly people

Not great for

  • Very large suburb
  • Can be a little quiet at times
