"Nice but I wouldn't go back there"

This is a beautiful street and is sure to impress. It is not noisy at all, and neither are the neighbors. The neighbors are however, distant in their manner and terribly worried about everything you do - they want things done in just one way, every time. I became a bit sick of being supervised really. I didn't do anything that ever upset anyone, but I always felt worried about it and therefore found life there somewhat more stressful than it should have been. I must admit I don't like the "big brother is watching" aspect of the street.

"Fun but there are pitfalls"

This is a fun place to live because it's close to lots of interesting places and there are lots of things to do in the surrounding areas. It's also very close to the city, and has great tram and train access. However, my car was robbed several times and our neighbors were noisy and unfriendly. It felt to me like it was a place people didn't really want to live in for long, just a pit stop along the way to somewhere else.

"Pleasant but surprisingly noisy"

This is an attractive street in a pleasant neighborhood. However, the noise was a surprising aspect of life here. Dogs barking day and night, loud parties almost every Friday and Saturday night, cars hooning around the streets, particularly on the weekend. On the good side though, there are lovely trees and beautiful native birds and animals. Services are a long walk, so reliance on the car can be heavy.

"Great place to raise a family"

Very family friendly, very clean and green. Nosy neighbors are a fixture of Canterbury, but it does make for almost zero burglaries (in fact none in our street - they'd be spotted straight away!). Parks are wonderful, fantastic access to bike tracks. Situated between middle Camberwell shops, Maling Road shops and the high street on Burke Road, Camberwell, the shopping choices are excellent. We are also almost exactly halfway between Chadstone and Doncaster shopping centres, so again, excellent choices. Public transport is wonderful - two train lines, and the two closest train stations are Riversdale station which is on the Alamein line; or Canterbury station which is on the Belgrave line and the Lilydale line. Trams run along Riversdale Road which is a few minutes walk. In fact, I think the location is almost ideal.

Is there any reason to go anywhere else? Well only that people can be a little pretentious, but maybe that's just part of the Eastern suburbs culture? Not sure?
