"Great little quite street."

Chippendale Street is a very nice street to live in, the residents are all very friendly, easily one of the greatest Streets in Claremont.

"Fairly rough area"

Bridgewater is fairly rough but still isn't the worst suburb in Tasmania. If you don't mind it a little rough and can defend yourself there is a tight neighborhood community.
Pros
  • Great investment area
  • affordable housing
Cons
  • Very rough
  • High welfare uptake

"Great Suburb, lots of cafes and a short stroll right into the Hobart CBD"

Battery Point is a great little suburb with tons of character and history, lots of cafes and great Coffee. It is a very short walk to both the Hobart CBD and Sandy Bay so you are spoilt for restaurant choices. Although parking can be a little tricky if you are a guest as most streets are 2 hour zones Battery Point is so close to everything you don't need a car.
Pros
  • Lots of good cafes
  • Friendly area
  • proximity to CBD

  • Relatively inexpensive
Cons
  • Feels unsafe at night

"Not a bad suburb, quite in most places, short drive to the city."

I lived in Claremont for 3 years, overall its a pretty safe and quite suburb, my neighbors always kept an eye out and would bring in the bins for me. Most parts of Claremont are well maintained with lots of parks and nice areas to have a picnic or bbq, Some small pockets are a little less desirable but just check out the street before moving in, there is the odd Bogan or car doing a burnout but it is a lot better than most other suburbs in this price range in Hobart.
Pros
  • Lots of Parks
  • Lots of local shops
  • Friendly people
Cons
  • Small pockets of dodgy houses.
