Queenstown

"A true gem of a town. A great place to raise a family"

Queenstown is a fantastic little town to raise a family. We have just moved this year 2019 and the kids love it. The private school has some amazing teachers and facilities.

The price of food, fuel and electricity is expensive but the experiences you will have are great. We love the cold so bring on the snowy cold winters and hiking tracks.

St. Josephs Catholic School in Queenstown is an amazing school with fantastic teachers and staff who go above any beyond to ensure each and every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential and attain to be the best they can be whilst providing a safe and fun learning environment.

Hello everyone, this is a great thread. I am on my own in my 50s and want to move to west coast as I love the cold, snow etc. As I am retired I would like to know if it would be easy for me to make friends, through hobbies, volunteering etc, I am looking at Queenstown, Zeehan or Strahan but with Strahan to few rentals I think. I am use to being on my own but I would like to join in with the community, thank you

The West Coast towns are very community orientated. Lots of community events, fundraisers and clubs too volenteer at. Strahan rentals are generally priced quite high, Queenstown would have the best rental market. Queenstown also has better facilities such as West Coast District Hospital, the library hub and more shops, cafes and restaurants in general.

Thanks Jane for your reply much appreciated, sorry havent been on here for a year. I have now moved to tassie but still wanting to be able to rent somewhere private meaning I am sick to death of renting units with noisy walls and no private outside space. I will make a trip to Queenstown as check it all out, only worried about being snowed in and getting shopping!
