Akala Street

"Beautiful street, lovely gardens and atmosphere. Up-market area, mainly retirees. High rainfall and breathtaking scenery. Lots of ticks, spiders and snakes."

The most magnificent views, lush and green, set amongst the Blackall ranges. Glorious homes and gardens. Neighbours are caring and decent people. A magic place with a positive atmosphere. Mainly acreage properties, therefore occasionally noisy, due to tractors, ride-on mowers and power tools. The main down side is the many snakes and paralysis ticks that can kill animals. Therefore, daily checks of pets, Frontline and collars and whatever else you can lay your hands on. A great deal of thought needs to go into living here if you have pets. Otherwise, heaven on earth. Lots of waterholes with lillies, walking areas, State forest, beautiful gardens and architecture. Frog-mouth Owls are residents in the street. People are friendly and will chat when you walk by their homes. Only 10 minute drive to Nambour, where there are full facilities. Montville is only 5 mins drive and Malaney, 20 minutes. Certainly a tourist area and breathtaking drives. High rainfall to fill up those water tanks. Overall, a friendly and caring neighbourhood and tree-lined street.

Parkhaven Close

"Lovely place to live if you don't value your privacy and like the sound of trains and dog barking constantly. Only 5 minutes drive to Nambour, which has all services. Hilly with lovely views over Nambour."

Pretty little cul-de-sac with up market homes. Neighbours mainly stick to themselves, but wave when sighted. Hilly area with homes overlooking each other, therefore lack of privacy. Home values have elevated and some overpriced. Nowhere to walk dogs, apart from busy streets. Nice garden nursery closeby. Too far to walk into nearest town, which is Nambour. A car or two is absolutely necessary, as the public transport is almost non-existent. Pretty views over paddocks towards Nambour Hospital and town. Little creek runs by near the small park at the bottom of Parkhaven. Train line over the back, therefore noisy overnight, due to goods being transported up north. Rather hot in summer, but slightly cooler than Nambour, which is in a hollow. Funny sort of a place, kind of no-man's land.

Queen Street

"Picturesque little village, but ruined by callibre of people living there. Prices low, therefore attracts mainly low income earners"

Very wide street in the hub of cane growing industry. Cane train runs through the front property 6 months a year, therefore noisy all night. Also general store in Queen Street, delievery trucks call by day and night, some with very loud radios who have no consideration for people sleeping. Pub at one end of main street. Can be noisy and disruptive after a band night. The music is fine, but it's the locals who become vandalistic after a night out of drinking. Most neighbours help each other out and are friendly. However, most also have every power tool conceivable and have no hesitation in challenging themselves, as to how small they can cut up a plank of wood. Pretty walks in secluded places. Lovely old cemetery dating back to the 1800's worth visiting occasionally. Only 10 minute drive to beautiful Childers, which is a glorious place to live and visit.

Lake View Drive

"mostly good, lots of dogs barking, hoon at the top of the hill with motor bike and cars. Otherwise excellent. Lots of nature"

Rural outlook. Mostly green and lush with kangaroos and cows grazing in paddocks. Lots of dams and wildlife. Pleasant walks along the made road. Cul-de-sac at the end of the street. Neighbours are friendly and look out for each other. Mainly mature-aged couples living in the area. Mostly retired and fairly well off. Sociable and outgoing. One couple renting with a dog that howls. Overall, quiet during the day and night. Highway noises heard depending on which way the wind is blowing. Being a rural area, there are snakes around during the warmer seasons. Pub and little cafe within walking distance for drinks and food. The most beautiful blue skies and starry nights. A really lovely place to live, with the occasional annoying dog, motorbike or background noise. Some people have diesel water pumps, which are irritatingly loud. Young chidren and babies would need constant supervision, due to vast number of unfenced dams. Otherwise, perfect for children.
