"Suburb living is good but the commute is a b**ch"

Lovely houses (excluding the many vacant OS investor homes with overgrown front lawns). Town centre is nice & convenient as is the train station. Poor planning had led to increased amount of traffic cutting across from truganina / hoppers crossing over to freeway & point cook.
Whenever there is a major crash on the Princes Freeway in morning peak ( which happens regularly) you cannot get out of the suburb. Constant train delays and disruptions from Laverton Crossing removal don't help either.
Until the Palmers rd upgrade is complete in 2021, Old Geelong Rd (from Sayers Rd ) in Laverton (2022) and all crossing removal work on Werribee line is complete, I'd avoid this suburb if you need to commute to the city every day - the traffic is just nightmarish right now & only getting worse.
Crime is on the rise with African youths & theives travelling in from the nearby poorer suburbs.

"A hidden treasure - time to share it with those not in the know"

This is a fantastic area often overlooked by homebuyers and investors. I bought here five years ago and the suburb is definitely on the move, many houses are being renovated or replaced & there are lots of new good looking units\townhouses going up which give Zillmere a modern feel.
I have never felt any safety or security issues and my neighbours and other residents are all friendly and polite.
Walking distance to Chermside shopping centre, train lines providing access to the city, beaches and the airport being close by are all major drawcards to this area and I just dont know why it isn't more popular. I believe in the near future it will become a property hotspot in Brisbane for all the above reasons.
