Alderley

"Improving"

Lots of kids roaming the streets at night. Needs a more playgrounds or skate parks. Has a very stale boring feel about it. One day when more young families move in it might improve. Housing prices seemed to have gone backwards.

I think the above comment has no credibility. I have lived in Alderley for 10 years and have never seen kids roaming the streets at night. There are plenty of parks and playgrounds in the area, including the massive Grinstead Park which has a huge playground for kids, Sedgley Park and Banks St Reserve, to name just a few. And as for house prices, Alderley was one of the only suburbs in Brisbane where house prices actually increased in 2011. I think you need to check your facts. Alderley is a great place to live and I'd highly recommend it to others.

I've lived in Alderley for seven years and there are no kids roaming around. There is a huge park (Grinstead park with kids play area, exercise facilities and BBQ facility), cycle path, skateboard park.

I lived in Alderley from 1999 to 2007 and have returned in 2014. I have never seen lots of kids roaming the streets at night. I concur with 'Alderley local' and joseph p. There are plenty of parks and other facilities etc. - in fact great infrastructure.

Clearly, Lifestyle 1 has never lived in Alderley and is possibly jealous. It might pay to remember Lifestyle 1 that you take yourself with you wherever you go.

Cypress Drive

"Lovely peaceful Street!"

Very Peaceful and full of trees and beautiful Houses, like the Historic Glenlyon House. It crosses one of the nicest looking streets in the suburb, Glenlyon Drive full of tall Cypress trees. Good place to raise a family or invest.

"Old fashioned Family living"

A beautiful family friendly suburb only 5klm from the CBD. This is the place you always imagined to bring up a family in. The area is filled with gorgeous Queenslander Homes or "Ashgrovians" as often referred to. It boasts peaceful tree lined streets, lots of parks and bike ways, a glorious creek meandering through the suburb and great schools. Good shops and boutique Coffee spots for the weekend nearby. Great place to live. Its often said locally that once you move here, you are hesitant to leave. The residents are very friendly and caring to their neighbors. All this also makes for healthy long term property growth too. Ashgrove is very hard to beat as one of the greatest suburbs in Brisbane!
