Sydenham

"Unsafe, Dirty Streets, Polluted Air at Dangerous Levels at least once a week."

There are screaming domestics day or night spilling out into the streets;
Rubbish and garbage is let blow all over the streets, never to be picked up, collected by street cleaners;
Street lighting is lousy - it is dangerous to go out to your letterbox after dark;
Supermarket trolleys gather on pavements in residential areas;
The rents are high, and the prices at Watergardens supermarkets are very very high - clothes, shoes - well, they're just plain two years ago.
Car windows are smashed on a daily basis around the supermarket and the train station ...
And on top of that, the Environmental Protection Authority reported this year that air pollution was at dangerous levels on an "average" of once per week in Sydenham. I moved away 6 months ago, and my bronchitis, which was constantly flaring up, has cleared up! ....

Hate to break it to everyone but there is a drift track just north of Sydenham, and a lot of people in the area have tricked out cars. It's basically the Hoon capital of Melbourne. The littering is from lowlives living on fast food dumping their rubbish out their car windows. The fine print of Sydenham is basically the whole area has been occasionally exposed to burnt rubber smoke from Calder Park Raceway. Police are barely present in Sydenham unless they're called, there is no active Police Station closeby other than Melton and Caroline Springs. There is theft, damage to property, hooning and underpolicing. The Calder Park Drive, Melton Highway intersection has traffic that could probably be comparable to the noise a Jet would produce albeit momentarily and occasionally instead of a constant flow. If you like cars it's fine, it's pretty cool. Very unsurprising the EPA is speaking up about the area's emissions. If police impounded cars maybe there'd be some changes.
