I have lived in Salisbury North for 15+ years and can say that it is not safe, I love the place but if I could afford to live closer to the city I probably would.
You can use the SAPOL website to check for crime-rate in a specific suburb and from what I found Salisbury North has the highest amount of assaults in all the suburbs I checked except for Adelaide (city). Salisbury north also seems to have the highest crime-rate in general for a suburb with no shopping centers and their numbers are inflated by theft/shoplifters.
These facts are current of November 2021 as that is the latest I could find, you can uses the map to check for a suburb with much less crime. Here is the link to the map.

I agree. We moved house as a result of what you have mentioned MerryJane. There's always something about the North either on the News or in the Papers. There's nothing good about the area.I even started going to Burnside Village every so often on weekends just to escape the Bogans and Ferals that ruin the local malls up that way.
"Fantastic Suburb"
I have been working in the area for 20 years and just love it. Very expensive though. It has everything. Beautiful houses, parks and gardens, shops and your close to the city. Wish I could afford to live there. Maybe when I win the cross lotto.

"Great place to raise a family!"
Mature neighbourhood with very little drama. Close to the city (5kms roughly). Great for schools, shops, transport. Affordable yet a prime area for future growth as the likes of city life continue to grow further into the suburbs. It's often let down by its more reputable side, closer to Grand Junction road, but as you come further south, Blair Athol grows into a very modest suburb, and if im to be totally honest, an under rated suburb at that.
Great for
- 10 minutes from CBD
- Great Public Transport and connections
- Minutes to the new Prospect Rd presinct
