"Good suburb but unnecessary aircraft noise spoiling the area."
I have lived in Panania since 1982. It is still a nice area but is gradually deteriorating. Houses are constantly being demolished so there always seems to be building works going on. The small suburban houses are being replaced with horrible modern buildings that do not fit in with the general ambience of Panania. They are oversized and built with extremely bad taste, boxey looking constructions, obviously designed by architects who wouldn’t know how to draw a curved line. Also the noise from constantly circling training flights is very annoying. Sydney is a big area so I don’t know why these flights can’t circle other parts of Sydney from time to time. Even if they just circled north of the airport occasionally would give us some relief. I live just off Tower Street and while the planes don’t usually go directly overhead they are close enough to give me a headache after a while. The noise is the main reason that would prompt me to move.

I am a light sleeper and been living here for 10 years and had no issue with it at all. They usually stop flying after 5pm. You can hear it during the day if you pay attention, but it's not noisy as they just flew past and from a very long distance. No noise at all after 5pm. I didn't hear any aircraft noise in the evening or night time. btw I live on the side of the station with the Panania hotel and near Cammarlie St/Batchelor Avenue.
Agreed with you guys on the aircraft noise. I live in the north side. Its very annoying the noise constantly happen til late night
The aircraft noise is driving me crazy
Hi, totally agree with the comment about the aircraft noise. As you've been in the area for such a long time, has the noise got worse during recent years? When I raised a complaint to AIRSERVICES AUSTRALIA, they replied that the airspace is public and nothing will change.
