Kuranda

"Heart breaking"

We unfortunately bought a home in Kuranda had we off been renting we would of left in the first week,
Every time it rains I hope it rains body wash to clean the village and the locals. Kuranda does no favours for the Skyrail or Kuranda scenic railway it needs a devolved to come and clean up the place at 4pm the village is a ghost town by 7pm the last shop closes.
Take out fish and chips or pizza both overpriced and not good.
One supermarket food works ripping off the locals and the quality is disgusting.
More stray dogs than locals walking the streets.
Centrelink needs to get on to this issue Kuranda has so many people hiding out from life and responsibility.
Kuranda community pages on Facebook are just fighting and keyboard warriors.
Local areas as soon as you say you live in Kuranda they turn they’re nose up and say oh no I am actually embarrassed to say I live in Kuranda.
It has been a year from hell having to live here.
Trying to get workers and people don’t want to work.
Supermarkets/ one bit very expensive
and poor quality
Transport a bus every now and then.
Eating dinner out not possible
Stray dogs soooo many
Mareeba shire couldn’t care less about Kuranda
It is truely heart breaking that places like this still exist in this day and age.

Gympie

"Small country town."

The highway going through is a bit of a deterrent but the bypass is on the cards so will be good when it is done.
If you like small country towns then you will like it but if you are coming from a larger town then it may take a bit to get used to.
Shopping is very limited, restaurants are very average for the little choice that is here.
It is shame that the locals have the mentality of you’re not a local so do don’t overly go out of there way to include you.
Local business owners either have to much money or really don’t care if you shop local.
The weather well it’s a really dry heat in the summer and freezing cold in the winter and gets heavy fog due to the Mary river.
Activities to do in Gympie the valley rattler is good.
Markets are ok bit if you’re coming from a larger town then they get real boring real quick.
Cinema is something out if the 70’s
If you have to work then expect a commute on to the coast.
If you like Pubs Gympie has the most pubs in one town I have ever seen before.
If you like small towns then it may be for you.

My favourite things about Gympie is the road leading north to warmer weather.

Who lives here?
